All Music Guide - Bret Love
Puddle of Mudd's story is every struggling musician's dream come true: armed with a fake backstage pass, frontman Wes Scantlin snuck the band's demo to a Limp Bizkit security guy at a show in their native Kansas City, and less than one year later finds his group's debut album the first release on Fred Durst's new label. Thankfully, Come Clean sounds nothing like Limp Bizkit; Puddle of Mudd's aggro-rock sound is similar to every other Alice in Chains- and Tool-influenced band to come along in the past few years. For those who listen to 90s alternative rock

I love Wesley Scantlin's voice. Great music. My 2 favorites are: "Control" and "Blurry".

Puddle of Mudd Kicks Fat ASS!

Puddle of mudd is an awesome band and their cd, come clean is awesome 2 i cant wait for their next album 2 come out..their cd is the type of cd that u can take ne where 2 listen! it has awesome lyrics and wes's voice is so just right. It fits all the songs. The guitars playing have the right tone and they just sound like they're true musicans who play their instruments extreamly well. THey are very original (and so r their lyrics) and whenver u need 2 get ne thing off ur chest b/c u had a bad day just push play on ur cd player (b/c of course the cd will already be in there from previous listenings) and just listen they make you understand what ur "problems" are and the songs just make u feel good inside. I RECOMMEND THIS TO ANYONE AND EVERYONE!

    this cd rocks...

not good enough? pfft... Puddle of Mudd is definitely one of the best bands out there right now.... true, there are a lot of one hit wonders also out there but I don't think these guys fall under that heading.. I've heard four songs off this cd on the radio already... Control, Blurry, Drift and Die, She Hates Me... and I wouldn't be surprised if Said gets played too... or Basement...

Being the old fogey that I am (i.e. 40)...

I really liked this CD. I don't really listen to the radio at all, but when I first heard this band I really liked the sound. I liked it so much that I had to find out who it was and the listen to the entire CD.

Puddle of Mudd Rocks since way back in the day

ALL OF THE PUDDLE OF MUDD SONGS ROCK BECAUSE WES HAS BIG TALENT. ALL OF THE SONGS ARE COOL ON THE COME CLEAN CD AND I LOVE HEARING DRIFT AND DIE BECAUSE THAT IS A SONG THAT WAS ON THE FIRST ALBUM PUDDLE OF MUDD MADE LOCALLY IN KC. IF YOU HAVE THAT ALBUM WHICH I THINK IS SELF TITTLED, THEY WERE JUST AS TALENTED WITHOUT ANY BIG NAME LABLE. I WOULD HAVE LIKED TO SEE THEM RELEASE A FEW MORE SINGLES FROM THAT ALBUM TO THE NEW FANS WORLDWIDE. NOT ONLY TO HEAR A FEW MORE KILLER TUNES, BUT MOSTLY BECAUSE THOSE SONGS ARE ORIGINAL BLOOD,SWEAT, AND TEARS OF WES'S TALENT BEFORE HE MADE IT BIG. THAT LOCAL ALBUM IS JUST AS GOOD AS THE WORK PUT INTO THE COME CLEAN ALBUM, BUT IT IS ALL STRAIGHT FROM PUDDLE OF MUDD WITH NO OTHER SONG WRITTERS INVOLVED. SO, 5 STARS TO BOTH CD'S FROM THIS LOCAL FAN.

Bret Love needs his brain checked

Obviously Bret Love never bothered to listen to the entire cd. Otherwise he would have found numerous songs on there that are too good to give such a poor review. Just wait until ''Blurry'' comes out as a single. That's going to just blow the competition out of the water.

    Puddle of Mudd are horrible.

Moronic over-simplified lyrics, unoriginal songwriting, muddled production...a very boring band that can only be described as idiotic snooze-rock. The band fails to distinguish themselves in any way from the melee of other such awful bands, for instance, Nickelback and Tantric. Instead of 'Puddle of Mudd,' I will suggest the name 'Muddle of Poop.'

    Bret Love is messed up

This guy doesn't know what life is like for some people. He was on something when he wrote his little artical. This CD is a good way to express people such as my self. This is the best CD I own Blurry and Control are #1 on our local rock station! Control is the best song!
