Dated, but oh worth the read

This is one of the first books Linda Howard wrote and it is dated in that our thoughts and feelings were different 30 years ago. It is still a great read and the stubbornness of both of the main characters is telling in their choices of careers. The second couple are interesting also in that 30years ago. you didn't give up easily when things went sour. Enjoy this read. Linda Howard has been my very favorite author for over thirty years.

    Something Sweet:D

Linda Howard sets a touching plot, developed, in depth characters, cohesive dialoge, steamy passion scenes and a little of lifes tragedies and triumphs...all this in an overall great tale. It could be considered a short story because it's a little over 100 pages long but I truly think it's worth while for a nice romance. It wont hurt to try out this Howard book, and in the end you can reccommend or warn people in a review/rating.

Loved the personalitiies of Deon and Blake. I thought it was a very good story with wonderful dialog between the two characters.

    Really Bad

For years I've thought this is the worst book Linda Howard had written, but that changed with the release of "Ice." The problem with both books are the characters. We never become engaged with them or their story therefore we really don't develop an affinity with what happens to them. Both books are not worth the time it takes to read them. Her other books are very good and I've been a huge fan of her's for years and I believe a couple of bad books does not mean all of her work is suspect. Enjoy her other books as one can completely lose track of time while being so engrossed in her books.

I recommend "All the Queens Men", all five of the "Mackenzie" books, "Cover of Night" and Up Close and Dangerous" to just name a few.

    but it's still Linda Howard!!

OK, every once in a while she is a bit off. But the woman writes CONSTANTLY--she has to, with so many books coming out so often for so many years. And most of them are amazing! And frankly, a bad Linda Howard is still pretty doggone good!

Other favorites--short romance, Loving Evangeline and Duncan's Bride. Full tilt--Dream Man and After the Night--really different books, but both lusciously good!

    Found it flat

While this book exhibits Linda Howard's mastery of writing, I found the plot line more than a little flat. If it isn't your first Linda Howard, you may find it very boring. If it is your first, please give her another chance. I am a certified Linda Howard adict and was actually very surprised with this one.

    Incredible!!!

I just loved Ms. Howard's books. This one was no different. It was touching, somewhat funny, and beautiful. The main characters and the plot were very likable. I look forward to reading her other books.

    Loved it

This was my first Linda Howard; what an introduction to her. Their romance was so volatile and hot. Can't wait to discover another keeper by her.
