Action-packed. The wild journey is outrageous in a way that only a true Laymon fan will understand for it's hard to take in the twistedness and gore that is this book. If you're knew to Laymon, you'll find that this book is a perfect example of Laymon's legacy.

    Not the greatest.

This wasn't one of Richard Laymon's greatest books but it was still good enough to keep me reading and wanting to finish the book.

At times this book can be slow moving and hard to turn the pages, but once he gets to the point it starts moving a little faster. The sex scence are explicit (usual Laymon) and one of the death scenes are not for the weak of heart. If your offended by rape and murder or have a weak stomach don't pick it up. But if your a long time fan of Laymon give it a shot. It won't dissapoint.

The best thing of this book is the revenge theme.

    Two Similar Books by Laymon

I've enjoyed quite a few of Richard Laymon's works, and I read 'Come Out Tonight' and 'The Quake' back to back. Neither is Laymon's best work. The two novels are very similar in their main plots: an overweight psychopath stalks a beautiful woman and eventually gets an opportunity to capture her. Both stories include a group of high school students who turn on each other under stress, and in both stories the stalkee's daughter or younger sister is involved. I got the feeling that one or both of these novels was a draft for a story that Laymon was trying to get just right. I'm pretty sure at least one of the books was not published until after his death so perhaps he never intended it for print. Still, Laymon is Laymon, and if you enjoy his work you'll find both books readable.

Not his best work but still good

This was the most recent book i've bought of his. I have all of them so far and love them. This one wasn't one of his best. It really didn't seem like it was one of his books honestly. It was slow starting and getting to the point. But over all it was a good book. I finished it in less than 10 hours (same day) if that means anything.

STARTS OFF SLOW, BUT ENDS UP BEING GREAT

I picked this book up first thing when I knew it had finally come out. It took a little while for this book to keep my attention, but I never put it down after that. Not his best book to date, but was certainly a great! Probably his fourth best book in my opinion.
