Cake is almost all I listen to. I have all the CDs and there is always one in the player. I even have my sons hooked! Can't wait for another release.

Cake, is nonetheless a unique and original band. Their mixture of rock, alternative, funk, and country has made them a great band to listen to if you are open minded. ''Comfort Eagle'' is a great song, with a catchy tune and unique, sarcastic lyrics that relax me. The whole album has a bunch of good songs on them. ''Long Line Of Cars'' is an other catchy tune that you will be singing in your head for a long time. I recommend this to all the Cake fans out there and to all who want to listen to some unique and original music. Cake Rocks!

Comfort Eagle is definately the best album I've heard this year. It's one of the only albums in recent memory that is solid throughout the entire CD. Anyone buying it for ''Short Skirt, Long Jacket'' will find that and more good songs on this album.

I don't care what the critics say. John McCrea's views on the world are not warped at all. His songs reflect an intelligent man who sings about emotions and problems that we all go through. Cake is the most ''REAL'' band around and you'll be sorry you missed them if you aren't a fan.

The long wait for a new Cake album was definately worth it. There are some really great songs on this album. Cake has a sound like no other band. I love it.

I was skeptical at first about buying this CD. I don't have a lot of money and there are a lot of CD's that have still not been relased, so I'm trying to save money. But I bought this Cd anyway, and I am pleasently surprised by how good this CD is. Great trumpet work, catchy bass lines, basically everything you look for in a good CD. Now excuse me while I buy Fashion Nugget.........

The Real Player snippets of the songs don't do them justice. Buy this album and you won't regret it. My favorite is Shadow Stabbing: not only are the lyrics great, but it is one of the few songs where McCrea's singing talents are showcased.

What happened to the anger we saw in Fashion Nugget? What happened to the impeccable wackiness in Fashion Nugget? On this CD, the wackiness is subdued in favor of songs like ''Commissioning a Symphony in C.'' While I really liked the CD, I missed out on the wacky humor and stuff I'm used to by these guys.

Cake is one of those rare artists who make records that shine from the opening note to the last sigh. Just like their previous releases, Comfort Eagle is just plain good catchy music from start to finish. If you're new to Cake, try any of their four releases. I promise that you will not be disappointed.

After hearing the Lou Reed ripoff in ''Shortskirt..'' I thought for sure this album was the beginning of the end for Cake. However, I was happliy surprised by the song line up and found the entire album to be even more catchy (without being too pop) than their 3 previous outings. McCrae has grown as a writer, and and you can hear that in the lyrics. I think Cake continues to get better with experience, and this album just might be the one to put them on the map.

This new Cake album rocks...I love every song. While I think the first two albums are amazing, they just seem to get better and better and better...Pretty Pink Ribbon is a great song, and Opera Singer just makes me groove.

The smirks are still there, as are the deft melodies that refuse to adhere to a steady course. But seven years on, there's something more mature, more multidimensional about these Sacramento alt-rockers. Most of that evolution can be traced to the writing of leader John McCrea, whose worldview, while still warped, has broadened to the point where he can slip into the skin of a country music lifer as on the title track or, well, an "Opera Singer."
