Meet the Author

Pema Chödrön is an American Buddhist nun in the lineage of Chögyam Trungpa. She is resident teacher at Gampo Abbey in Nova Scotia, the first Tibetan monastery in North America established for Westerners. She is the author of many books and audiobooks, including the best-selling When Things Fall Apart and Don't Bite the Hook.

    Don't read unless you are willing to be changed!

    This was my first introduction to "something" that was missing in life. It is comprised of short writings which are full of powerful ponderings. During this day in time, this book can steady your rocking boat with the insights that Pema Chodron offers her readers as she shares what is important in life. It is very interesting what she says about the storylines we create for ourselves and how they cloud our vision of what we are all about.
    This is a great book to offer to those who are searching for something. It fits in with any religious beliefs and there those who have no religious affiliation. It is a beautifully written guide to living on our planet. I hope you will enjoy your read.

    Cool little book!

    The book is organized into little chapters that convey an idea or teaching in a very conscise format. I'm not an expert in buddhism and to tell you the truth most of it is a mystery to me.Pema Chodron relates buddhist teachings in a manner that a Westerner, like myself, understands and finds useful. I'll be reading more from Ms.Chodron.

    simple and easy to understand.

    Pema has this special way of writing that is so simple that really helps you understand not only the book, but also yourself! This book has short teachings of no more than one and a half pages. They are easy to understand and all you have to do is start training. It has nothing to do with religion so anybody can read it and it is definitely going to be helpful for every day's life.
