    Love & Loss

Love is a very tricky thing and with the loss of someone you love like a parent it is very difficult. Amy losses her mother and now must decide if she is able to step into her place and continue on with healing horses.
I look forward to reading more in the Heartland series.

I got this first book in the HEARTLAND series after getting hook

I got this first book in the HEARTLAND series after getting hooked on the TV show on Netflix.  I was very happy with the story and writing style in this first book.  I have a couple of very young granddaughters whom I believe will eventually become hooked on reading these books.  I definitely want to encourage reading, and I believe these books will be winners for them.

Book one introduces the characters living on the Heartland horse farm for sick, injured, and emotionally needy horses.  The mom, Marion Flemming has a special way with horses," and uses sensitive techniques with natural herbs for treating the horses.  A terrible accident while saving a horse,  kills Marion and injures her 15 year old daughter, Amy.  Amy has her mom's talent with horses, but she is devastated after her mom's death.  She also lives with her grandfather,  but her older sister, Lou,  has her own career in New York.  Lou comes home after her mom dies but plans to leave after she " practically organizes the farm and it's finances".  The girls find common ground while working with a very sick pony.

The story interestingly introduces the main characters, and deftly sets the stage for many more books in this series----which I also plan to read.  Age range is 4th-8th grade, but I thoroughly enjoyed this first book too!

    Beautiful Work

This book was amazing. I am a true horselover and I always go to the riding stable across the street from my school. I love in Virginia and the grass is always green with flowers with beautiful colors. Trees always stand tall and my school is lovely. The stables I go to is right next to my school and I go there and do my homework there. After that, I go to see my favorite horse. They found her wondering around when she was two-year old. I helped train her, using the methods in Heartland...and they worked! I was so excited about that. She is a beautiful golden palomino arabian. I names her Firefly after her golden firey coat, and also because when she jumps, she flies. When we were caring for her, she and I formed a close bond and she enjoyed it when I came to groom, train, ride and play with her. Heartland has taught me how to handle wild horses and how to form bonds with them. I also learned treatments from herbs that work too. Firefly is seven now and I ride her every-day after school and homework. Then I go home and tell my parents and older brother about it. My rival, Quinn hates me and she is always trying to out-do me and be better than me. But I don't care..so long as I have Firefly with me. Heartland is an insperational story that will capture the hearts of any horselover, such as myself and many others. I adore these books and so will all the horselovers in the world. (Firefly nickers Hi!)

    Healing Horses, Healing Hearts

I read Heartland: Coming Home in one day!!! It was sooooo good! It's one of my favorite books. I can't wait to read the second book in the series. In this book, Amy's mom dies and she has to cope with taking care of horses at Heartland on her own. But she soon realizes she has a special gift with horses that her mom once had. Amy and her sister, Lou set aside their differences to save a horse's life. This book is so exciting and it makes you want to keep reading! It really keeps the reader wanting to find out what happens next. It was a tad bit sad whwn Marion died, but Amy learns to move on. Her mom would have wanted her to keep helping horses and to reach her dreams.

Amazing......The best....Never read anything like them!

I think this book is the best!!! I cried a little when Amy's mom died. I love how Ty was there for her. He's so compassionate. I've never read any book like this. I feel so sorry for Amy. Last year I was hooked on another series and thought these books were stupid and a little to above my age, but I was at B&N one day and saw these. I bought the first one to give it a try. I'm now on the 16th one and addicted to them. I say phooey to those who think Heartland is stupid and unrealistic. I love Ms. Brooke, she's my hero!

A great book... so are the others

This book was great, even though it was sad at first. It may be at a 5th grade level but anyone can read it! It's amazing how the horses help to heal Amy's heart as she heals theirs. I love every Heartland book, so read on!

    HEARTLAND ROCKS!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Heartland rocks! I'm finished #16(I've read #'s 1-16 twice.} and am dying to have #'s 17-20.I realy hope Lauren Brooke writes more than 20 books ,if she can. One of the main reasons I like this series is because Ty and Amy have such a great bond with the horses and eachother. Once I started reading Heartland I couldn't stop. If you haven't started reading Heartland I suggest you start, but you should start with #1. Trust me you will love Heartland.
