Overview

In 1990, Dr. W. Edwards Deming, father of Total Quality Management, wrote, "Our systems of management have destroyed our people." He wrote this as the opening of his review and introduction to Peter Senge's Pulitzer Prize winning book, "The Fifth Discipline." That statement was the genesis for the research that lead to this book, "Communicating Quality."

What is leadership, and how can effective leadership be created within and organization? Why do so many implementations of TQM and Six-Sigma fail? How does communication play a role in the development of an organizational shared vision? This book, the results of an intensive organizational study, provides compelling insights into these questions. The book also raises serious questions about the value of the current state of management education, and suggests new directions for management education for the future.
