Peter EtherdenChris Wright's The Community Manifesto has much of the feel of Fritz Schumacher's 1960s classic Small is Beautiful: Economics as if People Matter with oodles of honest-to-goodness common sense, knowledge in detail across a broad spectrum of 'worlds' and an armchair style that convinces without confronting. It is also ideologically very sound from a 'Fourth World' viewpoint with Chris Wright's long-held belief in the power of community to transform our world shines through from every page..an intellectual tour de force . A deceptively easy read..and just the book to slip into.
