Purpose: The purpose is to provide a concise clinical guide to EKG interpretation and cardiac conditions.
Audience: The book is written for anyone interested in learning more about EKG interpretation, but is targeted to nurses working in a clinical setting.
Features: In addition to EKG interpretation, the book also covers causes of and treatments for cardiac conditions. It discusses the cardiac system, 12-lead EKGs, pacemakers, and conditions which would cause EKG changes. The best attributes of the book are its compact size, its comprehensive review of cardiac rhythms and potential disorders, and its exercises and helpful tips.
Assessment: This is a wonderful addition to any nurse's library. It is a comprehensive and concise review of cardiac rhythms and conditions. The book breaks down the rhythms in a way that's easy to follow. The exercises are helpful, and it is a great reference. I would not hesitate to recommend this to my nursing students.
