Noted Instructor Eric Roth was a key element of the legendary Santa Monica-Malibu English as a Second Language program put together by a former Director of the Department of ESL and Bilingual Education at the United States Department of Education in Washington, D.C. This team of instructors taught English to everyone from Polish diplomats to Salvadoran refugees to the nephew of Argentina's President. More recently, Roth has taught English at USC and traveled to Vietnam to establish a new school for English learners in Southeast Asia. Roth has put these extraordinary career achievements in the service of this new all-American edition of his signature book Compelling Conversations, focused specifically on students learning English in and for the United States of America. Although this work was initially designed for learners of English as a second language, it has also been recommended for native speakers of English seeking to improve their conversational skills in person and online. Whether English learner or native speaker, face-to-face or Facebook, Compelling American Conversations is sure to enhance and improve social and conversational skills for everyone.
