This is a well-organized overview of the use and evidence for common complementary and alternative medicine (CAM) therapies for prostate and urological health.

Purpose: The purpose is to provide a critical analysis and synthesis of the current literature on CAM treatment approaches that patients often use without physician guidance. The book will arm practicing clinicians with current and relevant data to help patients make informed decisions about everything from dietary supplements to acupuncture. The presentation is clear, concise, and useful.
Audience: This has the potential to become one of the go-to guides on CAM/urological health issues for students, residents, and seasoned clinicians. A synthesis of this data is not easy to find, which makes this book particularly valuable.
Features: The book concisely presents the evidence for the scope of treatments in a manner that allows clinicians to efficiently discuss risks and benefits with patients. The first two chapters review issues related to poor diet and unhealthy lifestyle, including dietary behaviors that increase cholesterol levels, blood pressure, glucose levels, BMI, and cardiovascular disease. They outline appropriate options with an emphasis on heart healthy approaches that impact overall health and longevity.
