Children's Literature
The four tales featuring Peter Rabbit are presented in large book format with the full text and original illustrations. Most readers are familiar with the inquisitive Peter and his narrow escape from Mr. MacGregor. The other three tales are also readily available, but not as well known. In "The Tale of Benjamin Bunny," Peter's cousin drops by and encourages him to return to Mr. MacGregor's garden to retrieve his lost clothes, now adorning a scarecrow. They are trapped by the cat and eventually rescued by Benjamin's father. Benjamin has married Peter's sister in "The Tale of the Flopsy Bunnies." One day the tiny bunnies venture into Mr. MacGregor's rubbish heap. After eating heartily of discarded lettuces, they fall asleep and are discovered by Mr. MacGregor who puts them in his sack to take home. Mrs. Tittlemouse aids in their release. Potter tells the readers of "The Tale of Mr. Tod" that this is a story about two disagreeable people. Mr. Tod, a fox, and Tommy Brock, a badger, do not get along with each other, but they both like to eat little rabbits. Peter is called upon, once again, to help rescue small nieces and nephews. These delightful tales with their "big words" and adorable illustrations continue to entrance young children. 2003, Federick Warne,

These are some of the most creative and classic children's stories ever written, and my son and I love them all.

The Complete Adventures of Peter Rabbit is a wonderful book with many stories by Beatrix Potter. Although the book is made for young children, it is a bit advanced. The vocabulary and storyline is probably hard to follow for a young child. Being a pre-teen myself, I understood the book, but I feel it would be hard for younger children to comprehend it. I wasn't too impressed with Beatrix Potter's writing style. She seems to wander off the subject often.
