Lots of errors in 2012 edition!

I bought the new version (2012) a week ago and have found so many errors that I am just in a state of disbelief. I have used this book (four different versions now) for all of my children - it has been my bible for selecting the appropriate school for each child. I use every section of the book and rely heavily on the rankings to help make educated decisions for school visits, applications, etc. We just returned from visiting several schools with my youngest and as I was going back and forth from the selectivity index to the individual schools, I noticed not a few, but A LOT of discrepancies. More than I could keep track of while reading in the car. So when I arrived home I decided to look at JUST THE FIRST COLUMN in the selectivity index. So if I look at the rankings of 99 for schools and then go to match up that ranking with the same number listed with the actual school description, there are NUMEROUS errors. In the first column alone, which ranks schools from 99 through most of 97, there are TWENTY SEVEN schools where the ranking on the index does not match the one with the school description!!! That is 52% of the entire column. So if that percentage holds, then one can only assume that over half of the selectivity rankings are wrong!! But which numbers are right? Is the number in the index right or is the number in the school description right? I can not believe this amount of errors. Some of the rankings are off by three points (Georgetown is listed in the index as a 98 and in the school description on page 303 as a 95???) How are people to make educated decisions when the rankings do not even make any sense??

I am so disappointed in this book, I can not begin to tell you. As I said, I have used this book for years with each of my children and have truly found it to be helpful. I would like to know if anyone has even noticed these errors and if any corrections have been made in subsequent printings. I know that this is peak selling season for this book - I got the last copy at my Barnes & Noble.
