The thing that struck me on receiving this book to review was the quality of the photography. Of course I'm not in any way qualified to say whether or not it's a good book on hairdressing, but I do know quality printing when I see it, and this book is a marvel. It's also very entertaining, too, as we follow a group of young girls on various outings, job interviews, parties, holidays, preparing for weddings etc., and have to get their hair styles to suit their face shapes. A mix of cartoony-type characters and stunning photography make this a must-have for anyone with the slightest interest in hairstyling. Sumptuous.

    good, but...

I appreciated a lot of the advice on hair care, and I liked the way he used five fictional women as examples, which is much more effective than just instructions. However, a lot of the styles suggested are way too over-the-top for civilians like me. Plus, while there was some advice about haircuts, it was incomplete in that it did not deal with various hair types. Finally, the book didn't even mention special medical issues that affect the hair, such as alopecia, medications, and pregnancy/post-partum.

    not what i expected

i thought this book would contain several differnt cute hair styles and how to acheive them, but there were't any step-by-step pictures and most of them were outrageous styles that only runway models would wear. way too much money for a worthless book.
