With a little background (I'm a degreed engineer) and practical experience (I spent 8 years designing and building chemical plants), and with the help of this book, I conducted my own inspection - before I even made the offer! My inspection was more thorough than anyone I would hire. This book not only tells you what to look for, but also provides the necessary photographs and easy-to-understand diagrams and directions to guide you through your inspection.
