KEEP YOUR CAT PURRING- FOR YEARS TO COME... In the past few decades, tremedous advances have been made in veterinary technology-nearly tripling the average life span of many pets. But cats that are seven years and older have special needs and require additional emotional support, nutritional help, and medical care. A longer life also means more cats suffer age-related conditions such as kidney problems, diabetes, and arthritis-all of which can be successfully managed with your loving assistance. In this revised and updated edition, pet expert Amy Shojai explains: • How to entice your aging cats to exercise • What changes to expect-what's normal and what are warning signs • Which over-the-counter medications you should keep on hand • Tips for choosing the right products and food • How to provide nursing care at home AWARD-WINNING CAT CARE! This is an excellent book for information on the aging cat. Lots of really good information and advice. An excellent resource. Well put together and thought out. Great reference. Amy's approach to pet care is top notch.
Purrfect guide to your cat's medical concerns. The book was written in 2010. This review is written in 2015. I say this as I assume even more medical breakthroughs have occurred. The writer goes over every major body organ and discusses medical treatments as well as provides personal stories to illustrate her point. I was reading this on a NOOK Color and feel like there were technical issues. There was not a table of contents and gaps of white space occurred between sentences as well as only half of a photograph was available. Nonetheless, the book is an excellent resource and I would recommend it-you can even "share" this book!
