60 complete works by one of the all time masters for such a low, low price! The NOOK is such a great device as it enables the purchase of so much for so little! If these 60 books were printed, besides weighing a ton and a half, and wasting trees by the truckload, they would have cost hundreds of dollars. Dickens is famed for his depiction of the hardships of the working class, his intricate plots, and his sense of humour. But he is perhaps most famed for the characters he created. His novels were heralded early in his career for their ability to capture the everyday man and thus create characters to whom readers could relate. Dickensian characters-especially their typically whimsical names-are among the most memorable in English literature. The likes of Ebenezer Scrooge, Tiny Tim, Jacob Marley, Bob Cratchit, Oliver Twist, The Artful Dodger, Fagin, Bill Sikes, Pip, Miss Havisham, Charles Darnay, David Copperfield, Mr. Micawber, Abel Magwitch, Daniel Quilp, Samuel Pickwick, Wackford Squeers, Uriah Heep and many others are so well known and can be believed to be living a life outside the novels that their stories have been continued by other authors Read them all here in this complete and affordable collection. Highly Recommended!!

I had bought the 99 cent version of the Complete Works of Charles Dickens and couldn't get past the first stave of the Christmas Carol. I took my Nook into the local B&N today but they couldn't do anything either. Thanks heavens it was only 99 cents I lost. I downloaded this version and it seems to be fine. I don't know why B&N hasn't deleted or fixed the other version.

I've never read Dickens, but just couldn't pass it up for the price! Had no problems opening the book at all!

like to read his books. However, it is hard to find a specific book from Nook. Needs better index.

This collection has the major works plus some shorter pieces less generally known, including a notes on the U.S. Overall the ebook format is good, with a few odd typos and some relatively minor page layout problems.
