True, the book has a sizeable A-Z section on Bowie's albums and songs, but the rest is a series of thematic chapters (e.g., "The BBC Radio Sessions," "The Actor," "Apocrypha") that would fit nicely into any music biography of the artist. Whether it's the riveting details of Bowie's rich career or the author's engaging writing style that makes this as much fun to browse as to read straight through, this significantly expanded update of a 2000 title of the same name belongs in most public library collections.
