This was an excellent book, especially if you are into showing your dog. However, I wouldn't recommend it to owners of mixed bred dogs; the only part of interest for them would be the section near the end about dog care. Also, this wouldn't be the best book to refer to if you are searching for the right breed of dog. First of all, it only includes AKC-recognized breeds, and it only glosses over the actual ownership of each breed; most of the book is spent listing the breed standards. Unless you are truly into showing your AKC-registered dog, you should think twice before buying this book. Overall, I enjoyed the book myself, so I give it 5 stars! Was this review helpful?
