This scholorly treatment of a complex subject is very welcome. Most lay people simply adopt the version of the Bible that they are exposed to in their local congregation. In the beginning there was only one accepted English translation, The King James Version (aka KJV). Now hundreds of years later, there are many good translations in use throughout the English speaking nations. NKJV, NASB, NRSV, NIV, NAB, to name a few. Why more than one? Ron Rhodes examines the translaton process and how it affects the final result which we use today in Bible study and Church. This is a facinating journey through the ages and through the work of many biblical scholars all trying to produce the very best translation possible. In the end only you can choose the translation that best fits your spiritual needs. This book will help you make that decision.
