    Great for beginners and experts

This is a great book if you are new to caring for horses, from care in stables, out in the pastures, and more. It also describes how to determine what a healthy horse's aspects are and has a chapter listing nearly every horse disorder, desease, and injury, and how to prevent and treat it. It is especially good if you want to know what to do when transporting a horse and how to care for it at horse shows. Basically, it has everything you want to know about horses except for horse breeds.

VERY basic, for the ultimate beginner with NO experience

If you've never touched a horse then this is a good book for you. If it's for a gift for a beginner rider with actual hours in the saddle and hands on a horse or pitch fork then it's too basic.

I traded it in at the store for a book with less basics. The service at the exchange was fantastic!

    Horse Crazy

This book is a very good book to learn how to take care of horses. Now I can go to horse back riding and know how to take care of every horse there. Now I Tell apart the cury comb from the reguler Brush. I highly recondmend this book to anyone that is horse crazy.

    Special Comment

This book taught me so much! Pratically everything I know about caring for horses came from this book. My Aunt had bought it for me for my B-D when I was 11. I loved horses so much! If it weren't for this book my horse probably would have died if I hadn't noticed the sign of colic, which I had learned from this book. I hardly new anything about horses before than. Not only did it help me notice sickness sign it showed me much, much more. That is why I strongly suggest that for your young riders or even for yourself, this would be the perfect gift!
