Meet the Author

Margaret Furtado, MS, RD, LDN, RYT, is a licensed dietitian/nutritionist with 20 years of clinical experience. She is currently part of the multidisciplinary team at Johns Hopkins Bayview Medical Center, where she counsels patients on both medical and surgical weight loss. She also spent four years working at Tufts-New England Medical Center's Obesity Consult Center. Margaret earned her Master's degree in nutrition and dietetics at Florida International University in Miami.

Joseph Ewing is a graduate of Johnson and Wales University, with a BS in culinary nutrition and an associate of science degree in culinary arts. He was awarded first place in the State of Maryland SkillsUSA Culinary Arts Competition and third place in Talbot County, Maryland, and was published in the Star Democrat for his accomplishments. Joseph is currently working in Rhode Island as a sous chef for the Pinelli Marra Restaurant Group.

    Oh yummy!

    This is a great book. Full of 'normal' recipes that anyone will enjoy; not just those who have had surgery. I have not had surgery yet but wanted to get a start on how I will need to eat and also get a good selection of cookbooks for after surgery. This book is not only full of recipes but also chapter after chapter of great information on what to expect after surgery, nutrition, food labels, stress, and more. This one is definitely a keeper.
