    The Author's Comments

This is a brand new book through Pearson Education/ Penguin Putnam. Don't confuse this with the old Complete Idiot's Guide, which is now out of print. I wrote this book, not for the complete idiot, but for the beginning Lab owner. This book is intended to give you practical advice for owning a Labrador Retriever. This includes training, feeding, and caring for your Lab. You won't see much in show champions or field champions -- instead, you'll find information you can use, including nutrition, pack behavior, training, and other topics not normally discussed in a mere breed book. If you purchase my book and go to www.shadowhelm.net and email me directly, I'll send you a signed book plate to put in your book so you will have a signed book. (My way of saying thank you!) If you enjoy this book, you may enjoy others by me. I've included a partial list here. Good luck with your new Lab and enjoy the book.
