    Study the Founding Fathers

An unintended consequence of the Tea Party has paved the way for a reexamination of the intent of our nation's founding fathers. The political rhetoric revolves around the words of these men. However, how many have gone back to reexamine the context of the founders actions.

In The Complete Idiot's Guide to The Founding Fathers and the Birth of Our Nation by Ray Raphael, the author does a marvelous job to condense the essentials of the documents and circumstances which he describes as means to "ease drop on the great minds and debates that shaped our democracy."

What is most telling of our history is how much we really don't know. Words can take on a certain meaning in the political discourse and be bent to sway a certain opinion.

Raphael takes the reader into lesser known figures of our nation's history and breaks it down into the easy to comprehend manner that has become a signature of the Idiot's Guide series. One good feature is the encapsulated in a heading of "founder id" thumbnail biographical sketches.

This book is a valuable resource for any library and once you read it you will realize that many of the issues we face today were exactly what the founding fathers were trying to grapple with. As the old saying goes, "the more things change, the more they stay the same".
Purchase The Complete Idiot's Guide to The Founding Fathers and the Birth of Our Nation by Ray Raphael online or at a bookstore near you. This book is an invaluable gift to anyone who wants to be able to back their rhetoric with the founding documents than using the name of their favorite talk show host. As the cover states "meet the men who made history". If men were angels, we would have no need for government.
