The latest in a continuing series of photo guides, these books feature full-color photos of techniques with examples and practice projects. Veteran knitting and crochet teacher Hubert (Knit or Crochet: Have It Your Way) has dozens of stitch samples clearly pictured and charted. Schmidt, owner of a design firm, shows how to use commonly available ribbons to achieve professional-looking decorating results on clothes and accessories. These two guides will be useful for crafters beginning to experiment with ribbons and other fiber-crafting techniques in mixed-media projects.

The Complete Photo Guide to Crochet has a wealth of interesting stitches and a few interesting projects. For someone more experienced in crochet, I would recommend it simply for the number of different stitches it has, and would help you plan projects on your own. But it is not a very good reference for beginners. I am not a complete novice, but I still had to find a more remedial book so I could figure things out. Also, the organization is lacking. Easy, intermediate and experienced stitches are all mixed together, even within sections, making it difficult if you are trying to find stitches that match your experience level. Also, the projects are scattered throughout the book, with at least one project 20 pages before the stitch you have to use is shown. Overall, I still find it interesting, but I may have purchased something different.

I just began to crochet and got this book as a stich guide. It is very simple to read and follow along in. The book first shows you the basic stiches then how you can put them together to make hundreds of other pattern, i recommend it for anyone looking at crocheting or if you are a serious crocheter.

This book is invaluable. I have been crocheting for over 20 years and I still have to look things up occasionally. What a resource! And, for the beginning crocheter, I would imagine you could learn to do anything if you had this little honey on the shelf.

This is a "must have" for anyone who crochets. The instructions are easily read and include basic stitches, as well as, more complicated ones. A wonderful gift idea.

with in this book there are great examples, photos of swatches that can be applied to about any project you want to do. Some people learn by seeing and some by reading and you have both in this book. They way it is written I do believe you could learn just by reading her instructions..A great hand me down to grand kids..

I have been crochetting since I was five ( about 29 years ), the first project I learned was the Granny Square, I did them so much that I got tired of them. This book reconnected me with the Granny Square, and is perfect for those who have mastered the original. I wouldn't recomend it for the absolute begginers, but someone who is comfortable with basic stiches. I love that there is a stitch diagram for each pattern. I am using this book more for the square patterns than the projects, so I can't say much about the projects.

I've been crocheting for a little over a year, and I must say that I would not be at the level of crocheting that I am without this book. The instructions are easy to read, and there are patterns, projects, and motifs at every level.

A must have whether you're a beginner or experienced crocheter. Great photos with plenty of detail for all types of stitches; from single, double, half double to the more difficult motifs. A five star two thumbs up from me!

Paid for this last April and never have been able to see it as it does not open in any app for my iPad including any of the NOOK versions. What a waste of money, complaints go unanswered, no money refunded.
