    Great Study

Thoroughly enjoyed the Hua Hu Ching as well as the old reliable Tao Teh Ching. This book keeps bringing more food for thought even after being read through a number of times.Great gift for friends who might be looking for an intro to the Tao.

    A Lost Classic

This version of the Hua Hu is outstanding. Do not expect a word for word translation. Rather this is a translation into modern English that can be understood. There are portions which may appear arcane or esoteric to beginners in this area but that is the nature of the material and not the fault of the translation.

For serious students of Taoism I would consider this a must.

    The Gems of Taoist Philosophy

Many are familiar with the Chinese classic 'The Tao Teh Ching.' Many are unaware that Lao Tzu also wrote the 'Hua Hu Ching'. It was banned and almost destroyed in the 14th century during a time of political turmoil and religious persecution. Both books are now available in one volume. These translations are a lucid and penetrating insight into the spiritual wisdom of ancient China. Any serious student of eastern thought knows that Taoism and the 'Tao Teh Ching' had its influence on Buddhism which is how Zen Buddhism flowered into being. But many are unaware of the influence the 'Hua Hu Ching' has had on Mahayana Buddhism. I have found this book and its teachings as important as the Bhagavad-Gita and The Tibetan Book of the Dead. This book is especially valuable because it brings the formerly lost 'Hua Hu Ching' into the English speaking world. A perfect addition for the library of anyone interested in eastern thought or comparative religion.
