CHAPTER 1

Dec. 5 12:27 p.m.

Paul,

I left the Santa costume in your office, in case you change your mind. See you at the party.

Chelsea Wayne Assistant Manager Las Ventanas Resort

A flash of red at the other end of the hall caught Chelsea's eye. Holy cr ... Christmas, looks like she'd earned a surprise this holiday season.

The sight of Paul in the costume she'd ordered melted her heart — and did funny things to her stomach. Champagne might account for some of the giddy reaction, but mostly it came down to the knowledge that he'd worn the over-the-top outfit for her. Lord knew he didn't want to play Santa at the employee holiday party. When she'd first sprung the notion on him, he'd flat-out refused, calling the idea inappropriate for a general manager.

Yet there he stood, wearing the red suit, fuzzy hat, beard, and boots, in a display of affection her starved heart desperately needed right now. The level of work stress they'd endured at the resort recently had sucked the intimacy right out of their fledgling relationship.

No woman in her right mind would let such a sweet gesture go unrewarded. She pushed off the wall and closed in on him. As if he sensed her approach, he turned, but before he could so much as "Ho, ho, ho," her, she planted a palm in the middle of his padded belly and shoved him into the closet. The door slammed closed behind them.

"I've got a present for Santa and it's not safe for work." She didn't give him time to reply. Everything that came out of his mouth lately tended to spoil the moment, and she didn't want this moment spoiled. She went up onto the toes of her red sling-backs and kissed him like there was no tomorrow.

He stood stock still for a moment, no doubt shocked right down to his Santa socks by her uncharacteristically forward behavior, but she dropped her purse on a stack of folding tables, grabbed two handfuls of velvet and kept right on kissing him. The suit, padding, and beard made him feel bigger, less familiar, like kissing a stranger. Then again, it had been a while since they'd last kissed. Really kissed.

Maybe the drought had left him as pent-up as she, because he released a low groan, clamped a white-gloved hand at the back of her head, and took control. And what she'd started as a funny, slightly naughty thank-you ignited into a long, urgent demand the likes of which he'd never delivered before. One her entire body begged to satisfy.

He shoved her up against the tables in a domineering move that sent a whiplash of pure, feminine lust reverberating through her. Something spilled to the floor. Her purse, she realized, but then the thought spun away as hands worked their way under her blouse and cupped her breasts, lifting them until her nipples scraped the lacy edge of her bra. The small torment coaxed a moan out of her, and then another when his thumbs brushed the tight, tingling peaks and set off answering tingles strong enough to make her thighs clench.

A proper, responsible part of her couldn't believe they were doing something so crazy in a supply closet, with co-workers gathering in a banquet room on the other side of one thin wall. She drew back to catch her breath and level her head, but a wild, reckless part of her she'd ignored for too long took charge of her voice. "Hurry," she whispered. "There's not much time."

Spurred on by her own warning, she twisted away and bent over the stack of tables to scramble for the little packet of condoms in her purse. Dammit, she couldn't reach it. She leaned over as far as she dared, and stretched. Her fingertips grazed the bag, and ... "Ohmigod!"

Swift fists yanked her skirt up around her waist. Bare hands clamped on her hips, and a hot mouth trailed over her backside. Her leg muscles dissolved. What was he doing to her?

Not bestowing gentle little kisses. Uh-uh. Whatever he was up to involved lips, tongue, and — sweet mercy — teeth. The faux beard tickled her thighs, but she couldn't blame her restlessness on the props. He was the one making her squirm. Him.

His mouth roamed lower, and any remaining questions flew out of her mind, along with her sense of propriety and every ounce of her dignity. She arched her back and lifted up onto her tiptoes, praying he could reach the spot that craved his attention from this position. And then he angled his head, and Oooooh, thank you Santa for your fast, merciless tongue ... Air rushed out of her lungs. She must have made a noise, because a stern "Shhh" reached her ears.

"Sorry." She closed her eyes, bit her lip, and fought the urge to cry out.

Despite her effort, some sounds simply couldn't be silenced. Her choppy breaths filled the room, punctuated by the squeak of the tables every time she moved, and the wet sound of his tongue delving in, out and around her panties.

He deliberately teased her, making her shiver uncontrollably while he whipped her to a frenzy and retreated, again and again, until she rocked backward so hard she nearly toppled the stack of tables and sent them both sprawling. Thankfully, he didn't let that happen. He caught and steadied her, but the low rumble of his laughter washed over her skin.

Okay, it was funny. The sheer awkwardness of their cramped love nest, the Santa suit, the looks she imagined on their poor co-workers faces if someone opened the door right now. A giggle snuck past her lips.

"Shhh." The admonishment came from behind her, and then he sank his teeth into the curve of her butt and sent two fingers between her legs, sliding into her. Slow. Deep.

She locked her jaw to stifle a grateful sound, and choked back a whimper when he withdrew and used one damp fingertip to paint her flesh with a slow, circling design.

Where had this Paul been hiding for the last few months? Wicked, playful, and devastating. This Paul intended to exploit every inch of her, and nothing — good heavens, absolutely nothing — appeared to be off-limits. She loved it, and for once in her life she didn't care about the reasons. All she cared about were the sensations building to a crisis inside her.

She swept her arm out, snagged her purse, and used her free hand to dig around until she found the inside pocket. Condom. Clenching her inner muscles around his fingers in a silent plea, she thrust the small packet at him. A tear of a wrapper, the rustle of clothing, and then those hands were back on her hips.

He dragged her panties down. She braced herself. Time ticked by. One eternal second. Two. Her pulse pounded, and her nerve endings twitched. What was he waiting for?

Palms smoothed down her blouse, along either side of her spine, and then he moved lower, pausing to give each vulnerable cheek a squeeze. He took her hips and lifted them slightly, and she adjusted her stance to accommodate the deeper angle he wanted. His hands wandered along the insides of her thighs, long fingers sliding between for an all-too-fleeting caress, followed by another, and another. She swayed into his touch, not caring how frantic she looked. Those hands were all she could focus on. Why hadn't she noticed how big, and warm, and talented they were before? How they could practically finesse an orgasm right out of her with a maddeningly patient stroke ...

"Ooohhh!" There was no practically about it. Her body stiffened as the first ripple reverberated through her. Apparently, that's what he'd been waiting for, because he drove into her with a single thrust that shot her orgasm into uncharted territory. Then the thrusts came fast and hard. Beyond the rush of blood in her ears, she heard him say her name in a low, nearly unintelligible groan. She clung to the edge of the topmost table and cried out as pleasure slammed into her, crashed over her, and took her under.

For long minutes after the last wave passed, she lay there like a cat in a sunbeam, too content to move. The slow, cautious friction of his body easing out of hers provoked a tiny shiver, but that was involuntary. She might have sighed when he slid her underwear into place. She definitely gasped when he followed up the gentlemanly gesture with a quick, loud slap on her butt. What the ...? Hello, Santa just spanked you. Her surprised laugh echoed in the small room.

Another "Shhh" greeted her outburst.

So strict. But those magic hands tugged her skirt down, and she fought back another sigh. Interlude over. She pushed herself upright, re-tucked her blouse and smoothed her skirt. He held her purse out. She took it, and then leaned in and planted one last kiss on his beard-covered lips. "Give me a few minutes before you join the party." She cracked the door and peeked into the hallway. All clear. "Merry Christmas, Paul," she whispered, and slipped out of the closet.

You're going to be sorry one of these days if you don't stop leading your love life like a letter to Penthouse.

Rafe St. Sebastian stood outside the Las Ventanas banquet room, dressed as Santa Claus, while his little sister Arden's warning echoed in his mind. At the time she'd said it, he'd strongly objected to the comment. Not the part about his love life reading like a letter to Penthouse. He wouldn't waste his breath denying that.

Rather, he'd objected to Arden's contention he'd be sorry. He worked hard. He played hard. He had absolutely no regrets. And while he liked to think he had as much personal appeal as the next guy, he didn't delude himself into believing looks or charm alone accounted for his popularity. His social status, his family fortune, even the longstanding St. Sebastian playboy reputation, attracted attention. And yes, a secondary agenda related to his status, fortune, or reputation often accompanied the attention. It came with the territory, and didn't particularly bother him. Both parties went in with their eyes wide open and nobody walked away sorry.

Unfortunately, this time Arden proved right. He was sorry, because the evidence suggested this latest sexcapade had been a mistake on one party's part, specifically one Miss Chelsea Wayne.

He'd recognized her from the pre-acquisition due diligence. Her photo on the Las Ventanas website attracted almost as many views as the virtual tour of the resort. Intriguingly dark, wide-set eyes, full, smiling lips, and the sexy little dimple in her left cheek merited an extra click.

As of nine o'clock that morning, St. Sebastian had completed its purchase of Las Ventanas, and they'd cleared Paul Barrington to tell his direct reports about the sale in advance of the broader employee announcement scheduled to occur at the holiday party.

When Chelsea had shoved him into the closet, he'd intended to stop things after the kiss. In part because he'd tasted champagne on her lips, but more importantly, because a heat-of-the-moment hookup with the assistant manager of their newest acquisition was no way to convince his father he was ready to step up as chairman of the board of St. Sebastian Enterprises.

Strategic advantage guided Luc St. Sebastian's every decision. Rafe, on the other hand, preferred to balance analysis with gut instinct, and an occasional risk. Traits his father deigned impulsive and reckless.

The impulses Chelsea inspired had felt a little too reckless, even for him, but once she'd pressed her soft, eager mouth to his, he couldn't for the life of him bring things to a halt. He remembered thinking, two consenting adults, and then simply not thinking.

Maybe it had been an attempt to combat the tedium of what promised to be another boring corporate party, or maybe a deeper act of rebellion. He wanted the helm of St. Sebastian Enterprises, and fully expected to earn the chairmanship, but he chafed at the expectation he turn himself into a carbon copy of his father to do so. Their philosophical differences ran deep. He liked taking chances, both personally and professionally. His father never made a move that wasn't premeditated, considered to the fullest, and designed to further the interests of the company.

Rafe found operating under such a constant state of caution and duty stifling. He'd walked the line this year — mostly to prove to his father he could — right up until the moment Chelsea had pulled him into a closet and wished him a Merry Christmas.

And, God, she'd wanted him, with an honesty he'd found refreshing. No games. No secondary agenda. Just pure, simple lust. At his barest touch, she'd burned for him, sparking an answering fire he hadn't expected. Within minutes, they'd both been out of control. Luckily, she'd come prepared. He'd gratefully accepted the condom she'd offered as she'd bent over the stack of tables, invitation in every line of her body. An invitation he couldn't possibly refuse even though an annoying voice in the back of his mind had tried to tell him those big, brown eyes didn't belong to the type of girl who fucked a stranger in a closet. He'd hauled her red skirt up and given her an RSVP she'd never forget. She'd gasped and squirmed, either startled by the contact or tickled by the beard.

Loving her uninhibited response, wanting more, he'd kept going, slowly tortured them both. Her restless moans had filled the small room, followed by a startled cry after a particularly energetic move from her had damn near toppled them. He'd managed to stabilize them just in time, and then gotten swept up in her throaty laughter.

The playful moment should have released some of the tension, and instilled some caution, but no. By that point, only one release would do, and by God, he'd given it to them. Call him jaded, but no woman had gotten him that hot, inspired that kind of all-consuming urgency, in a long time.

The stolen moment had seemed like the perfect pre-party until the very end, when she'd kissed him, called him "Paul," and walked out. At first he'd just stood there thinking, What the fuck? The next instant, all the implications had hit him like a category five shit storm. He'd yanked the door open and scanned the hall, hoping to catch her and clear up her misimpression. Unfortunately, there'd been no trace of her and he'd known with a sinking certainty he was too late. She'd already joined the party.

Now he was about to step on stage in front of a room overflowing with new St. Sebastian employees, where he'd make eye contact with Chelsea, and convey ... what? No harm no foul?

Shit. He was screwed. But he sure as hell wasn't bored.

CHAPTER 2

Relax. Nobody will ever guess you just had sex in a supply closet.

"Your clothes are wrinkled, you're fifteen minutes late, and you're glowing like a Christmas tree." Laurie Peterson's voice carried over the coy innuendos of "Santa Baby." "This forces me to ask, who the hell are you, and what have you done with my best friend?"

Chelsea rolled her eyes and made her way toward the long table where the catering team put finishing touches on the buffet. "Sorry. I had to put out a fire."

"You had to put out a fire here, on your day off?"

"Uh-huh." Technically, the fire in question had been in her panties, but no need to go into those details. Determined to redirect Laurie before she wrangled the rest of the truth out of her, Chelsea stepped closer to the poinsettia-accented table where her friend stood transferring cupcakes from her baker's cart to the serving pedestals lined up along the center. She'd decorated each little cake like a gift, complete with piped fondant paper and intricate icing bows. "These look amazing. Thanks for squeezing our order in."

"Business is good," Laurie agreed, with the half-dazed, half-pleased expression of the newly self-employed. She arranged the last of the cupcakes on the pedestal closest to her, examined the presentation with narrowed hazel eyes, and nodded. "But I couldn't forget my peeps at LV. If not for the three years I spent working here, I would never have had the money or skills to open my own place."

Pride bubbled up in Chelsea's chest like uncorked champagne. Laurie had always dreamed of opening her own bakery, much the same way Chelsea had always dreamed of running Las Ventanas. Now here they stood, two women pursuing their dreams — Laurie as the proprietor of Babycakes, Montenido's hippest, cutest, yummiest bakery, and Chelsea as the assistant manager of Las Ventanas, Southern California's premier coastal resort.

Laurie grabbed her arm and pulled her toward the bar, where the early arrivals had already started to gather. "Don't try to change the subject. Why are you all flushed and flustered?"

Actual rating 4.5 out of 5 stars! Originally posted on my blog: Tangled Up In Books I received a copy of this book, from the publisher, in exchange for an honest review. In no way did this sway either my review or my rating! Oh. My. Hotness. Batman. Wow! I know this is only the second book by Samanthe Beck that I have read, but really that's all it takes to realize that when it comes to her writing you can expect lots of fun, a sweet and steamy romance, laugh out loud humor and lots and lots of heat. I absolutely loved Compromising Her Position. If you're a big Entangled Brazen fan, like I am, this one is absolutely a must read. Definitely top tier of the Brazen line. The characters in this book are so great. Chelsea is the people pleaser type. She puts everyone else before herself and will bend over backwards to make sure people are happy. But instead of this coming off as her being this weak, annoying pushover, Chelsea is actually extremely endearing. I absolutely adored her to pieces. Especially when she would let loose and shed some of that nice girl that she is to her core and flip Rafe's world upside down. Rafe is every bit as sexy as his name suggests he would be. I mean, Rafe St. Sebastian. Come on! Too much sexy. I loved his confidence and the fact that, sure, he has a tiny bit of an ego. But it manifests itself in this sexy, self-confident way. Wow, could I try to fit the word sexy one more time into describing this guy? Sheesh! I just mean that instead of him sitting there with a cocky grin saying things like "all the babes love me" it's more of the confident way he'll whisper the most naughty things to Chelsea about what he knows she wants him to do to her all while she's trying, trying being the key word, to deny it's true. Basically he's so much fun and extremely swoon worthy. Oh and did I mention sexy? *Grins* The story itself was a whole lot of fun as well. I laughed out loud on more than one occasion and had a smile on my face from start to finish. So it, in my opinion, is borderline insta-love. Because while they did spend lots of time together, I'd say it was 60% heat, 25% business related and maybe 15% of the getting to know you on a deeper level. But the ridiculous amounts of chemistry between Chelsea and Rafe along with the fact that they were so freaking sweet and playful when they were together just kind of made me feel like who cares if they didn't know each other very deeply before they fell into forever. I just want more freaking Chelsea and Rafe please! Like I said in the opening this is an absolute must read for Brazen lovers. And if you've never picked one up before but curiosity is nibbling at your heels I would have to say that this book would be a good starting off point. But be warned, they're a little bit like book crack, especially when they're so well written and have truly lovable characters like Samanthe Beck's do! Beginning to end this book was engaging and full of heart. Simply put...I freaking adored it! Huge thanks to Entangled Publishing for the opportunity to read and review this book!

A fun, sexy read that came at just the right time to get me into the Christmas spirit and wishing I could see a hot Santa like Rafe standing near a supply closet! :) Chelsea Wayne has just finished a project that went well and is celebrating at the company Christmas party. When Santa, who she thinks is her boyfriend Paul, walks by, she grabs him and ducks into a supply closet to "celebrate"! Rafe St. Sebastian is at the party to announce the takeover of Las Ventanas into the St. Sebastian Luxury Resorts family and lets some of his people talk him into arriving as Santa. Imagine his surprise when he's given the bonus of Chelsea wrapping her body around his in the closet! Chelsea has lots of surprises that night, and winds up helping Rafe with some business at another location, where they decide to have fun while they work together. Only when it's time to walk away, neither of them wants to, but won't speak up and tell the other how they feel. Will they walk away instead of risking their pride? ** Received free in exchange for an honest review **

Chelsea meets Rafe for the first time when she mistakes him for her man and hauls him into a closet and shows him a good time. Later, she finds out Rafe has just bought the hotel she works for. Then her man dumps her. So she needs space. Chelsea moves out to Maui to manage a singles hotel with an incredible view. New Year's Eve she runs into Rafe, and is wary of his intent. She wants to keep her past behind her. Rafe has never met a woman who he has wanted so much. This is a new feeling, but he is not questioning it. He chases her in the hopes of catching her in a temporary trap that turns the tables on himself. Chelsea and Rafe have a good thing between them. They are gun shy from their pasts and careers. They both know if they are not careful, this will be the real thing. I found this book funny, messy, and complicated. Just like real love. What a great book! Definitely a keeper for my shelf! ***This ARC copy was given by Netgalley.com and the publisher for review only.

This novel seemed to me like an amazing, hot and steamy read, right from the very first pages!! Chelsea had asked from her boyfriend and coworker, Paul, to dress up as Santa for this year's Christmas work party! So when she spots the red suit she doesn't waste a minute to show her appreciation of him! In a small closet! This was something completely unlike her, but it proved to be the best experience she had ever had so far! The complications start when she soon discovers that the Santa was not her boyfriend, but the new owner of their hotel, Rafe St. Sebastian! When Paul lets her know that he has gotten pregnant another of their coworkers and intends on marrying her, it is the final blow for Chelsea. She resigns her job and lands a new one, in another hotel, a few thousand miles away. Rafe is a wealthy young man, willing to prove to his father that he is capable of making three deals with different hotels, all on his own! Chelsea's resignation has been a complication for him, too, seeing as she is one of the best at her work! Not to mention that after their passionate moments in that closet, he hasn't really been able to keep her out of his mind, something completely unusual for him! While Chelsea has decided that she is not going to let herself love again after what Paul did to her, Rafe tracks her down, in order to show her that he is not done with her just yet. Both professionally and personally! She tries hard to avoid him, until he makes another deal, this time with the hotel Chelsea currently works for. In addition, he asked for her to be his personal tour guide for the whole week he is going to stay there, before the deal is sealed. How is Chelsea going to avoid him for a whole week, when all she really wants is just the opposite? An amazing story that got my complete attention right from the beginning! The author's writing style also helped with that! The pages flew by effortlessly, with both humorous and tense situations taing place between the two main characters. I also loved this couple! Chelsea was a young woman dedicated to everything she did, from her work to her relationships with other people. When she got her heart broken for yet another time, she decided to stop giving her all to the men she formed romantic relationships with. Nevertheless, she was a young, strong, independent woman I completely enjoyed reading about. Rafe was a wealthy, young man, used to always getting what he wants, but also willing to work for it, and not just wait until it comes to him on its own! I just loved the way he tried to win over Chelsea! I also enjoyed reading about some side characters, like Chelsea's realistic best friend and coworker, or even her mother, too! All in all, 5 stars for an awesome, hot and steamy read, I thoroughly enjoyed!

Chelsea and Rafe are two of my favorite new characters I've read in a while. In Compromising Her Position, we follow Chelsea and Rafe. She is an assistant manager at one of the largest hotels in the country and he is the soon to be new owner of that hotel. A very sexy case of mistaken identify, a Santa suite and a broom closet during a holiday party to announce the purchase leaves the two of them hungry for more. Chelsea has been burned by her "boyfriend" and isn't looking for anything serious. Rafe isn't either, but after that romp they shared in the closet he can't get his mind off of her. When she suddenly quits and moves away after the holiday party, he will stop at nothing to have her again, see her again, be near her again. But can the two of them work outside of the bedroom when she has a strict, no sleeping with the boss rule? This is a fun read full of sexy times, a few twists, and some very lovable and very hate-filled characters! I just simply loved it! Read to find out what happens when feelings get involved, but the two were only suppose to have a 6 week fling!

Is it wrong that I love every Samanthe Beck book? And this one is no exception! Oh my goodness, this one was pure fun, pure heat, and pure heart. Rafe and Chelsea had such spark from the beginning to the end. I cannot think of how many times I smiled and laughed at their witty repertoire. They kept each other on their toes, seriously cracking me up. Their heat was explosive. The way she wrote them was pure magic. And Ms. Beck showed it is okay to be a nice girl with a big heart. I loved the ending but was sad to see it end. I was not ready to let go of these characters. I received this book in exchange for an honest review from the publisher.

Chelsea Wayne finally has everything she wants; she is dating her boss Paul, while she worked at her dream job as Assistant manager of the La Ventanas Resort. But Paul is a little staid, so to spice it up, she tries to get Paul to dress up as Santa at the Christmas party and to get a little frisky in the cupboard! And she thinks he has gone along with her plan! But she realizes (after a steamy time in the closet with Santa) the guy dressed up as Santa is not Paul, no the man she had a steamy time with is Rafe St. Sebastian…the new owner of La Ventana Resort! She is horrified and is about to confess…until Paul confesses that he has been having an affair with another co-worker and she is pregnant! With all this happening, Chelsea Leaves her dream job, for a position in Hawaii, thinking that she will be left alone to sooth her wounds. Chelsea Wayne is one of the reasons St. Sebastian Enterprises bought the La Ventana Resort and when she runs after that fateful Christmas party, Rafe St. Sebastian is left to prove to his father, that he can save this deal and the hotels before Paul destroys it! So he follows her to Hawaii, the pretense that it’s all about business…but that can be further from the truth! So I am going to stop it there, as I don’t want to give any more of the story away! But this book was a mind blowing read. Now I have read many of a boss/employee romances, but this by far is one of the best!! I love the way that Chelsea’s character is such a strong women, but I wish she would have stood up to Paul and Ruff-Ruff more! Rafe character was great, but a few times his daddy-pleasing got on my nerves! I loved the way the author added the emails between the departments! My husband worked at a well-known chain of hotels for over 15 years and when I mentioned some of the emails in the book, he thought they were pretty accurate! Which I just found so funny!!! Now we all know that I am not a rom-com kind of girl, but I absolutely loved Compromising Her Position! The authors writing, plot and characters was simply divine and I found myself so emotionally tied to the characters, that I was devastated when the book ended! I give Compromising Her Position 9 out of 10!

So.... the opening scene was a bit problematic for me, not in the execution (because hello, smexy!) but more in the ethics of what happened. It's made quite clear that Rafe knows who he is with but assumes she is single and just looking for a fun time. And Chelsea thinks she's with Paul and calls him that by name at the end, and only knows afterwards (once out of the closet, literally) that it isn't her soon to be ex-boyfriend (and Rafe in turn realizes then that Chelsea thought he was someone else the whole time). It's a bit hard to believe that Chelsea wouldn't have noticed he was someone else, even in the costume, though the encounter happens quite quickly. I kind of wish they hadn't gone 'all the way' - I would have preferred that they fool around but not get to the 'endgame' before realizing that they weren't both seeing the encounter the same way. That aside, once Chelsea has moved away from her old job and onto the new one at the island resort, and Rafe has turned out to be the buyer looking at acquiring it, I found their connection believable. The sexual chemistry between them was smoking hot (well established from their first encounter) , and when they are at the resort it's a fresh start for them. In this beautiful setting and the background it entails (tropical paradise! luxurious sheets!) it's like a holiday romp with all the good things. Here is where you really get to see Rafe and Chelsea's true characters. Rafe is a hardworking, conscientious man and while he may be a bit of playboy, he's not out to take advantage of Chelsea despite how they met. He respects her skills that have made her an asset to the hotel industry and wishes there was a way that they could work together longer. Chelsea is equally interesting as a woman whose naivete landed her in the position she's in now, and her natural tendency is to protect herself from future relationship hurts. She hadn't been in love with her previous boyfriend, but even so, realizing how he had used her for his own personal gain makes trusting another man not high on her list. Slowly Rafe is able to convince her otherwise, and I liked how their relationship went from a no-strings fling to something deeper in short order. They do get their happy ending (yay!) and we get a sexy , entertaining romance in return. I think fans of the author, and Brazen book lovers will find this a worthy addition to their shelves, if they can get past the (for me) so-so start. 3.5 stars.

My Thoughts: When I read the synopsis to this book, I knew I had to read it because it would start out with a bang...figuratively and literally. I was hanging on the edge of my seat in the moments after the supply closet, wondering what would happen next for Chelsea and Rafe. When Chelsea finds out her boyfriend is a total douche, she quits and escapes. Rafe doesn't discover this until after he officially starts doing business with the company. He follows her for purely professional reasons, but those end up going out the window once they're together with their eyes wide open. Compromising Her Position was a steamy batch of romance. I loved watching it all play out, from the mistaken identity that caused cringes to the continued romance that caused swooning. Rafe and Chelsea fit together and I enjoyed the journey they take. Samanthe Beck is one I'll definitely come back to, and any following books in the series. My Rating: Very Good

Mistaken identity, a Santa suit, a supply closet and the steamiest sex you can have involving a Santa beard! Samanthe Beck sticks the landing with "Compromising Her Position" the verbal foreplay is spot-on and sparkling. The sexual chemistry between the hero and heroine is extremely combustible. The main setting, though much of the "action" happens indoors, is Hawaiian sunsets, palm trees, and ocean adventures - who could ask for more? Both the hero and the heroine undergo emotional metamorphoses. The hero in realizing what is truly important and what he wants. The heroine decides which life choice she wants to live. The reader is provided with two fabulous and intriguing "angels on the shoulders", as secondary characters, one for the hero and one for the heroine. I am hoping we see them in their own books very soon. "Compromising Her Position" is fun, flirty and Red! Freaking! Hot! Samanthe Beck gives us good old fashioned dirty, decadent, and incendiary sex! We have a good girl gone bad and a bad boy to show her how it's done in an Hawaiian paradise. Mahalo! Chelsea has her friend Laurie as a shoulder to lean on and a provider of advice for the lovelorn. Rafe has his little sister Arden as his "what were you thinking" love coach. Both are great. And the last "Sex Closet" scene is pure gold! The story is full of heat and passion, a few misunderstandings, plus plenty of innuendo and steam to keep you turning those pages. I loved the character development and the internal dialogue that both of the characters offer. Plenty of humor and some sweetness too! This ebook is a fun and exciting read that you will not soon forget!

I absolutely loved this book, especially the beginning was too good, after that I simply couldn't put it down. I loved Chelsea and Rafe and their encounters are always so funny and romantic. This is one of the best romance novels I've read in a while and in addition to that story is passionate as well as humorous. It's a perfect package. If you are looking for romantic comedy with lots of chemistry then this one is definitely a good read.

*ARC received from Entangled Publishing in exchange for an honest review* I loved this book. It's fun, well-written, and hot, hot, hot. I think the characters are great, even the supporting characters. I loved every scene of Chelsea and Rafe together because their chemistry is unreal. This might be the first book I have read by Samanthe Beck but it won't be the last because this book left me with a smile on my face.

When Chelsea Wayne sets her sights on Santa, she is immediately hit with the urge to drag him into the nearest closet and check an item off of her fantasy Christmas wish list. She is under the assumption that her boyfriend actually gave in to her request to play Santa for the night, and so she thinks a little fun in the closet is the perfect way to reward him for his good deed. After a quite satisfying experience in the closet, she flees with a smile on her face, and a new found appreciation for Santa, that is until she spots her boyfriend and Santa conversing with one another across the room... Rafe St. Sebastian is dying to get his hands on the family business, and in order to do that, his father tells him he must prove that he is worthy of such a big responsibility by closing three very important acquisitions. He is quite confident that he can do the job, that is until he finds out that the woman involved in his most recent little Christmas rendezvous is front and center of the final business deal he needs to close... One sentence into to this story and I felt myself being pulled into Rafe and Chelsea's world, and was left with a deep desire to know more. I got so involved in their story that I lost track of time and ended up having a late night reading marathon, I just could not put this one down!!! This was my first experience with Ms. Beck's work, and I have to say that after reading this story I am quite certain I will be a life long fan! I highly recommend you give this story a try, it is sure to satisfy all your reading needs and have you looking at Santa in a whole new light!! Being a fan of Samanthe Beck's books and Brazens in general, I was excited to read this one as I am a fan of office romances. While I enjoyed this one overall, I didn't quite feel the connection between the characters, which I generally require in my romances. Chelsea and Rafe have quite the assortment of sexy times, but I needed to see more of their actually getting to know one another to fully buy into their romance. Chelsea and Rafe start out with quite the bang (in a coat closet at the holiday party), but Chelsea mistakenly believes Rafe, who is playing Santa, is her boss and lover, Paul. Rafe doesn't know this until the end of the encounter where she wishes 'Paul' a Merry Christmas. I was a bit horrified for her at the moment she realized she didn't have sex with Paul, but with some stranger instead. She fears she's slept with an older, married man, and I can understand that being a disturbing feeling to have. While she did notice subtle differences between Rafe and Paul, (Rafe being broader) she still didn't stop the encounter and let the good times roll. Rafe is known for being a playboy and for not having romantic attachments, as he is incredibly dedicated to his work and doesn't want anything to deviate from that. He is in line to take over for his father and has to have three successful acquisitions to do so. While I liked Rafe's character, I am a bit over the whole indecisive act when it comes to committing to anything besides their career. Rafe doesn't want a relationship, but he can't help but want Chelsea because one time wasn't enough. He gets possessive when it comes to her, but he won't actually take the initiative to make her his until it's almost too late. That can be a bit frustrating because when it comes to being in his head we can see where things change for him, but it takes a bit to actually put himself in action. I also liked Chelsea and I understand her being a people pleaser and how hard it is to be unapologetic about some things. After unknowingly sleeping with Rafe, she finds out her boss/boyfriend has been doing some sleeping around on his own and has now gotten their HR lead pregnant and they are now engaged. Even though Chelsea loves working at Las Ventanas, there is no way she can stay and be a part of that mess. She ends up moving to Maui and while she still doesn't have the position she wants, she still someday hopes to be general manager in the luxury hotel business. Her path once again crosses with Rafe's and he is relentless in his pursuit of her. She knows she doesn't want to get involved in that type of boss-employee relationship again, so she is pretty reluctant. Her new hotel is one of the ones he hopes to acquire so he ends up spending time there to learn the ins and outs and Chelsea is his liaison to doing so. Overall, while this was a typical steamy Brazen book, it wasn't one that wowed me like Beck's previous novels have.

Chelsea sees her boyfriend dressed as Santa and pushes him into a closet for a quickie. Later she learns that Santa wasn’t who she thought it was but instead Rafe St. Sebastian. That is when her world turns upside down. This is a funny sexy romance. I loved the chemistry between the characters and the story flowed really well. A very enjoyable read.

Given by the publisher for review: This book was thoroughly enjoyable. The characters and the writing were great. Chelsea and Raffe were a great balance of each other. The way they meet and all their encounters after are both funny and steamy. I liked that Chelsea developed herself into a stronger person, not letting people walk over her the way she admits she had done in the past. That the choices she makes when everything she knew was crashed around her were for herself and not to please anyone else. Raffe was an interesting character and sometimes a little one-dimensional. But at the same time he wasn't exactly the typical playboy character. He Kept having to justify his actions and decisions to himself for all the excuses he made to be near Chelsea, it was amusing at times. This book has everything a good contemporary romance should have, humor, steam, great dialog, more to the story than the romance, and good character development. I recommend this book to anyone who likes the genre. Review also available on blog: http://pagestoexplore.blogspot.com/2015/10/review-compromising-her-position-by.html

Good smexy times and laughable moments. Rating: 3.5 I initially picked up Compromising Her Position thinking it was going to be a Christmas romance. Turns out it’s not. The story does however span from early December through Valentine’s Day. In an uncharacteristic moment, Chelsea Wayne sees Santa Claus and thinks it’s her boyfriend, shoving him into a closet, the two have a quickie. Chelsea realizes things feel different, but thinks her boyfriend is just as excited as she is. Rafe St. Sebastian is surprised that the beautiful Chelsea kisses him and wants more. He’s more than happy to give her everything she’s asking for. It isn’t until Chelsea says goodbye that Rafe realizes she thinks he’s someone else. When Chelsea realizes her mistake, her life as she knows it starts to fall apart. Unfortunately, Rafe isn’t done with her yet. On the surface, Chelsea and Rafe seem to only have a sexual relationship, lacking true caring emotions. I can only assume the two got to know each other off the pages. Compromising Her Position wasn’t anywhere near my favorite Samanthe Beck book. However, the smexy times are good, there was definitely a laugh or two and I liked the characters. Chelsea is a good girl who has always played by the rules. Playing by the rules has always resulted in her getting hurt, but she still tries. “Every single one of my relationships follows the same pattern. I trust. I give. I get dumped.” Rafe is driven to prove to his father and the board of St. Sebastian Enterprises he’s ready to take the helm of the company. He has a public persona that isn’t who he truly is. He doesn’t believe in marriage and happy ever afters. I was under the impression Rafe would be the ultimate of dirty talkers. In that aspect, he fell short. But don’t get me wrong. Rafe is still good at all the right times and in all the right places. Chelsea and Rafe manage to bring out sides of each other neither knew they possessed. Rafe brings out Chelsea’s passionate side, where she makes Rafe think about someone other than himself. Through hurt, pain, and misunderstandings the two realize that when it comes to love there is no compromise. I’m glad this is the first book in the Compromise Me series. There are definitely a couple of characters I would really love to get to know better, namely Laurie, Chelsea’s best friend and Arden, Rafe’s sister. **Received a copy from Entangled Publishing in exchange for an honest unbiased opinion.**

Awesome! This is one steamy read from the very beginning and things only heat up from there! A Santa costume, a supply closet, and a case of mistaken identity is no way to meet the new boss but that's exactly what happens to Chelsea Wayne. Rafe St. Sebastian standing at the front of the room in that Santa suit is the last thing she wants to see. So much for her career! Rafe has other ideas though.... This is one you definitely want on the must read list!! As expected from this author, you'll find yourself laughing, crying, and most definitely fanning yourself from the steamy hot sexy times. I highly recommend this one!

I really liked this book. I am glad that I do not pay attention to reviews before I decide whether or not to read a book. This one was so different than the review I read. I enjoyed this read! Chelsea is attending a Christmas party for her work and has been told that her boyfriend is dressing up as Santa. When Chelsea pulls Santa in a closet and lets him have his way with her, she never imagined that it was going to be someone other than her boyfriend. When she realizes what has happened, Chelsea goes to her boyfriend to tell him and he delivers his own bad news that pretty much ends him and Chelsea. When Chelsea finds out that the guy dressed up as Santa is her new boss, she never shows back up to work and tries to hide from Rafe. Rafe is determined to find Chelsea after their one night in the closet that left him longing for more from her. Rafe has been a playboy, but there is just something different with Chelsea that he wants to confirm and pursue. When Rafe finds Chelsea, things begin to heat up between them. Will Rafe and Chelsea find their way back to each other after their romp in the closet that started everything for them? You will enjoy this read that lets you escape into Rafe and Chelsea's world for a little bit. I can't wait for more from Samanthe Beck in the near future. This was a great read and the characters were very likeable.
