Overview

The last thing career-driven Kessen Newberry wants is to leave her home in Colorado to spend a Season in London, far away from her job, her friends and the memories of her mother. However, her father, the Earl of Newberry, threatens to disinherit her unless she gets in touch with her British roots. She complies, but has no intention of enjoying the experience.

That is until she meets Christian Vandenbrook, the arrogant and irritatingly handsome future Duke of Albany and her father’s business partner. Unfortunately, Christian hates Americans. And coffee. And apparently, Kessen.

A hatred this passionate can only lead to one thing… marriage.

Caught in the middle of a Regency-inspired nightmare, Kessen and Christian are forced to marry in only one week’s time. Resigned to their fate, the two resolve to give the relationship a chance—which would be much easier if everyone would stop interrupting them every time they found a moment alone.

    Contemporary Regency! Who Knew?

This is a fantastic romantic comedy. I was laughing the whole way through -- the banter between the characters, the hilarious situations they find themselves in and all the frustrating throat clearing make for a fun and enjoyable reading experience.

Perfect Marriage of Regency and Modern Day Romance!

So I have to admit even though I LOVE Rachel Van Dyken's books I was little leary about this one since it wasnt a Regency Romance. I really do love being proven wrong :) I LOVED this book...it is like the perfect marriage of Regency Romance and Mondern Day. I absolutely adored half-brit American born Kessen and her personality getting under the skin of the future Duke of Albany :) These two spark from the moment they meet! I totally recommend this read it was refreshing!

    Ok

The characters are supposed to be 25-30 yrs old, ivy league grads running world corporations and blue blood aristocrats. Yet, they act like teenagers playing stupid practical jokes and being very immature about the physical aspects of falling in love in a week. Clearly written for young adults, as the characters seem to be harnessing their inner 13 yr old. While there were a few comical moments, it was just unrealistic to the point of confussing. If you want a PG romance story about staying a virgin until married, knock yourself out.

    Poorly Written

I felt that this book was written quickly with no editing. I gave two stars, because there were some funny moments.

This book is plain stupid! Not one part of it is even remotely interesting or romantic. The characters acted like they were 12 years old. None of this story was interesting. NONE. I think a child could write a better story.

This book was fantastic! I found the characters absolutely charming and I fell in love with them all. I loved watching Claire ans Roderick fall for each other and I found myself cheering for every step forward they made. I also found myself falling for Roderick's friend Lord Clement and I hope she writes a book about him if he hasn't already.

    My goodness

This was one of the stupidest books I have ever read. The story was in the level of a third grader but it was funny. So if you want a good laugh without any care for meaning like watching three stuges show read this book.

    Will Keep You Laughing...

This book seriously has the perfect combination of romance and humor. The mixture is so perfect that you can't help but feel frustrated for the main characters. This book also have some of the best supporting characters I think I have ever met in a book! They give you the laughs, with their crazy antics! It is a light happy read. Enjoy it!

This story is very funny. Rachel Van Dyken took a modern day life and mixed it with the the 1500's i just love the layout of the setting and how everything just work together.. it's kind of fantasy and real life put together to make a powerful couple.

    Hysterical

All-American Girl goes to London and discovers european papparazzi... Hot Duke-to-be discovers how to have fun... Meddling Grandma...

You get the idea. This was a fun, funny frolic; set as a headline-driven contemporary with elements usually found in Historical romances. Barbara Cartland would have loved it. You probably will as well. I sure did.

    Mixed reaction

Liked most of the story until the end. The kidnap scene was ridiculous and didn't like how abruptly the story ended with no love scene after all the waiting.
