Con Banda Grandes Exitos

Editorial Reviews

All Music Guide - Drago Bonacich
Thalia's expression on the front cover of Con Banda Grandes Exitos, wearing a gorgeous Mexican outfit made by dressmaker Gustavo Mata, means what this album is about: a tribute to her native country. It was recorded in Los Mochis, Sinaloa, and officially released after a private party in Hacienda Los Morales, one of Mexico City's most traditional places. Produced by Guillermo Gil, Con Banda Grandes Exitos comprised her greatest hits with new arrangements by Pancho Ruiz and Adolfo and Omar Valenzuela, including chart-toppers "Amor a la Mexicana," "Entre el Mar y Una Estrella," and "Arrasando."

    Surprisingly, Great!

I myself have never been a fan of Banda, Mariachi, or Tejano music (except for Selena), but found that I enjoyed this CD. Reccomended to anyone.

    Viva Thalia!!!

This extremely great album contains some of Thalia's past hits in banda versions. It also includes two new songs, ''Cuco Peña'' and ''La Revancha''. ''Cuco Peña'' is a song about a man who accidentally ''slept'' with another man. ''La Revancha'' talks about revenge. Some of her past hits included that I liked the most were ''Amor A La Mexicana'', ''Piel Morena'', ''Quiero Hacerte El Amor'', ''Gracias A Dios'', and of course ''Arrasando''. This entire album is danceable. All the songs are great. There is no bad song.

    Thalia is succesful at Banda

I love the traditional sounds of Banda music. Thalia takes some of her most popular hits and gives them the Banda touch with the addition of a brass ensemble. Included is a little history on the genre and a two-sided bonus poster. It's not a musical style everyone will care for, but it's one of my favorites, and I'm happy Thalia is digging into her Mexican roots with this energetic and uplifting CD.
