What a delight to receive a concise, well-written guide to geriatric psychiatry that is up to date and fits easily into a jacket pocket...[T]his book represents great value (International Psychogeriatrics).
In this updated version, the authors have done a good job of selecting the most relevant pieces of information for clinicians, making this work much more useful than some recent, edited, voluminous works in this field (Clinical Gerontologist).
I strongly recommend this book to psychiatry residents and fellows who will be providing care to the geriatric population and to bookstores that serve residency training programs (Doody's Health Sciences Book Review Journal).
Written by accomplished educators, this guide is a first-class pocket reference that is in many ways more comprehensive than standard textbooks...The authors share their considerable wisdom liberally and deal equally well with both conceptual and practical issues in geriatric psychiatry (Lon S. Schneider, M.D., Professor of Psychiatry, Neurology, and Gerontology, Department of Psychiatry and the Behavioral Sciences, University of Southern California School of Medicine, Los Angeles, California).
Asenath La Rue, Ph.D., is Professor of Psychiatry in the Department of Psychiatry at the University of New Mexico School of Medicine, Albuquerque, New Mexico.
Appropriate for: Psychiatrists, Psychiatry Residents.
