A year ago she lost everything. Now she wants revenge...

Accused of stealing artifacts from a five-hundred-year-old shipwreck, underwater archaeologist Erica Kesling is determined to clear her name. She's concealed her past and taken a job certain to give her access to the buyer of the missing antiquities. She's finally closing in on her goal when she's distracted by a sexy, charismatic intern who makes her want something other than revenge.

But Lee Scott is no intern. He's looking for the lead conspirator in an international artifact smuggling scheme, and Erica is his prime suspect. He'll do whatever it takes to win her trust and get her to reveal her secrets, even seduce her.

As Erica and Lee struggle to conceal their real agendas, the one thing they can't hide is the attraction that burns hot between them. When Erica's quest puts her life in jeopardy, Lee must choose between old loyalties and a woman he never expected to fall for.

This book will keep you turning the pages with all the twist and turns right up to the end. Great romantic suspense debut novel. You will definitely want to get Rachel Grants next book. The interesting thing about this novel is that a lot of the information is based on factual happenings. I totally enjoyed this novel.

This is a mystery romance. There is some pretty hot sex, so be warned. At times this book is grapically violent. There is quite a bit of profanity, once again, f#%k and GD rear their ugly heads among others. The plot goes back and forth in time, for one character it back and forth to the fifties, for another it is only a few years back. There is attempted rape, murder, a lot of fisticuffs, shoot em ups and lies. Just when the reader thinks everything is figured out, the author writes in a new twist, which throws the aha moment off. The plot of the two or was it three, or perhaps four or even five bad guys, really had me scratching my head. Just who was the worst and who started the problems was very interesting. The boss was a bit of a shock also, or was ( were) there more then one boss? I really liked the two main characters. They really liked sex, all kinds of sex, in all kinds of places, not talking geographical areas here, although those were varied as well. I would let thrse men take me out shopping and parting any time they wanted too. Ohh, to be wined and dined and be told I am gorgeous, a feast for the the eyes from shoes, undies, jewels, perfumes, makeup and high name designer clothing, hair, nails, make up, a wonderful party, how I would like to be endulged in this manner just one time. I was green with envy. I wa probably too old for this kind of endulgance. But oh to dream, that little dream. This book was pretty close to profection. If the sex had been less smoking and there had been no profanity, I would have rated this a fiver. The editing was good. It is a book which is on the fence about being chick or rooster lit. It can not make up its mind. There fore it can be enjoyed by both men and women. Women might think it is a bit too much noir mystery, while a man would consider it too sexy, romancy and wooing of the lady folk unnessary. Therefore both can be right, and enjoy this book and argue about it later. If the sex had been toned down a bit (oral sex and different positions are okay, ) but please leave out sound effects, smells and who is looking at what and doing what to it. And how wet, hot, slick, ready, tasty, juicy, smelly it is. And the profanity left out, I would have rated this 330 page book five stars. Iit has all the elements I enjoy in a murder mystery. For adults. This book cost $2.99. It is a stand alone book and the first in a series. The conclusion wax very satisfying. There are two more books now available. Read and enjoy them. I intend too. AD

ABOUT THE BOOK: "Full of secrets, deadly intrigue and steamy romance. A MUST read." - Elisabeth Naughton, New York Times Bestselling Author A year ago she lost everything. Now she wants revenge… Accused of stealing artifacts from a five hundred year-old shipwreck, underwater archaeologist Erica Kesling is determined to clear her name. When Erica’s quest puts her life in jeopardy, Lee must choose between old loyalties and a woman he never expected to fall for. MY REVIEW: Thank you to Netgalley for the opportunity to read and give an honest review in exchange for an ARC read. Hot. Riveting. On the edge of your seat. These are just a few of the words I’d use when describing Concrete Evidence. This book definitely was a sure win in my eyes, and one that I’d highly recommend to anyone looking for a gripping read. I loved the details Ms. Grant went into when describing the thick plot, and the slippery love story. The whole avenue of having one of the main characters—especially one who was supposed to be the heroine—be the suspect? Genius! If you want a book that will keep you up, that refuses to let you put it down, and one that you’ll be thinking about for days, get this one. Four and a half stars!

I had never heard of the Thermo-Con house. It was very interesting to have the story revolve around researching the construction of this concrete house.
