    Concrete Jungle

Just want to let you know that I've read both of your stories. You have talent Girl!! I'm not just saying that either.... I haven't read any of the other stories yet, I just jumped to yours when I got in the house. I'll read them later!! (Tee, hee). Your stories are made of a raw, but subtle reality. You're not too harsh with the cursing, the XXX rated sex, etc. I wasn't offended at all by any of it. How can you be offended by the truth and reality of abuse, drugs, single-motherhood, AIDS, and the struggle to survive in 'Short cut through Hell?'. How can you be shocked to know that the corporate world is a 'dog eat dog' world - that it's not all that people think it is. It's a world of deceit, cheating, lying, and stabbing in the back - all for money and to climb that corporate ladder. Even though I am a Christian, I still have an open mind to alot of things because they are part of my reality. Whether or not I partake in this reality is another thing altogether. You keep up the good work young lady!!. You have a talent girl..you are very creative with words, you get your point across well in a very subtle non abrasive way, and you know what you are talking about which is very important. I judge a story by the first few lines. If my attention is not caught by the end of the first page, I usually put the book down - I don't care how the cover looks or how the book is packaged. Your stories captured my attention because I like a story to have a certain rawness to it. I don't like boring reading. So for 'Concrete Jungle', you get * * * * 4 stars sweetie!!! I can't wait for Twisted Gemini!!

Finally got this book in the mail after my homegirl told me to get it. Not bad. Pretty good stories. I'm already a fan of Shannon Holmes. But I'm very impressed with Ms. Jasmin L. Harry. The story is mad good. Open ending but it leaves you wanting more. David Torres has a good story too.

    Good read

Cool book. Different stories. A little bit for everyone. I'm pretty tired of the whole gangsta or hood story. This book has stories on different levels. I enjoyed 'Shortcut through hell' Real life and many teens need to read that story. Felicia Rutty's story is deep as well.

Someone gave me this book to read. I'm not really into reading a lot but it was cool and passed the time as I rode the train to work. Read it in two days. I liked The Auction by Jasmin L Harry. Awesome sex scene. Thank you for that.

    Job well done

I really don't like to read books like this but a co-worker said just read it. I was satisfied with the book it was different. I enjoyed A.J Rivers story 'Money Ova Everything' she really had me wanting more. To bad it was a short story. 'In Search of Chucky Gee' was a entertaining story. The way the author introduced each character was appreciated. I hope to read more from Joe Margolis. I've heard of Shannon Holmes but never read his work until now and I just may go out and buy his books cause he delivered. The other stories like Curtain Call, The Kiss were good as well. My friend also informed me that 'Concrete Jungle' was Jackson Press first release. You've popped your cherry. Take a bow you've done good.

Oh my gosh!!! This book is dope! Every story is different and entertaining with some sort of thought provoking ending or a lesson somewhere to be learned. I loved The Auction. A story of blackmail and deceit...And the end is crazy. Can't wait for the book Ms Harry. And I loved Shortcut Through Hell! I love Joe's In Search of Chucky Gee. This guy is awesome with his satire... Jackson Press is on the rise!!

    Concrete Jungle

I love it when writers come into their own. Pretty good stories in this book. Shannon Holmes does it again with his way with words. Can't wait til his next book hits the streets. The new writers aren't bad. In fact, Jasmin Harry's Auction was nice. Very detailed. Good Luck on your novel Twisted Gemini!

    Keepin it real

This book was deniteley worth the wait. It is a eye opener for those who have never lived in the hood and a blessing for those who survived it. Finally, someone has put The Heights on the map. Big shout out to 'Uptown Uptown'

    So Diverse!

The Concrete Jungle is a great read. Not too many times you'll read an anthology, and like every story. My two favorite stories were Shannon Holmes story 'Live By The Gun' and J Lynn's story 'Shortcut Through Hell' What a different flow than what I read before!

    Concrete Jungle

This was definitely a good read. I was never really into urban literature before because they seem to be all the same storyline, but one of my good friends said I had to read Concrete Jungle because it was different. I trust his opinion. And I loved it. Each story was different and a few left me wanting more. Great job Jackson Press! Can't wait to see more books from you guys. Just keep setting yourselves a part from the rest and you'll be successful beyond your wildest dreams! Thanks for the read!

    Author Torres

I found this short story very informing. He knows and did not forget his roots. I'd look forward to reading more stories from this author. He knows the street.
