    A fantastic work to behold.

I absolutely adore this book. It's easily the best story I've ever read - my style down to a T. It did slow down in a few chapters, but I'm not the type of reeader to expect perfection. Quite the opposite, actually. Anyhow, in other reviews, it's quite easy to tell that some readers were thrown for a loop by the abstract themes and general "I-do-what-I-want" style of writing that Mezcal showcases. Personally, I can not get enough! It's a much-needed breath of fresh air for those like myself who want an in-depth story that has stronger themes and more macabre ideas than anything you'll find in a common bookstore. Also, some might simply keep in mind that if you're surfing through the metaphorical shelves of guerilla fiction, you absolutely CAN'T jump in expecting Twilight. Something this strong and abstract is bound to confuse and generally piss off anyone who won't take the time to read between the lines and try to obtain a higher understanding of the literature. Moxie Mezcal's writing is, in my opinion, work of the elite. I, myself, took time to read the book at least twiceover so that I could make higher inferences and understand every minute detail, and I imagine that's just the type of reader who will fall in love with this book. And, contrary to popular opinion, I LOVED the ending of Concrete Underground. Dylan Maxwell is one of my favorite fictional characters, and I both loved and hated the things he did. But I found it a perfectly suitable ending for everyone. Not preferable, simply suitable. Maxwell came and went in an absolute masquerade of turning tables. In conclusion, I would reccomend Concrete Underground to any reader who loves to stay on the edge of their seat, and I'll always reccomend Mezcal as an outstanding writer.

    Poor

This is the first free book I have tried. It was horrible. The first third of the book was not too bad, but it went downhill after that. The author makes no attempt to be coherent, and seems to think this is valid style of writing. A weak attempt at some sort of Gonzo journalism that fails miserably.

Enjoyed reading this fiction though some time wondered if the author was smoking some funny stuff as he wrote it. The ending could have been a littlle better, but it wirked with the overall of the story. I recokmend it for anyone with an open mind.

    Not so great...

A fast mover, but, too much sex, gore and nasty language. You don'T need that to sell a book. But the guy on guy sex and the dope made me jusr close it up and stop reading.

    awfull

I felt a stunning mix off emotions. Anger at the characters decisions, horror at the gruesome scene and actions, disgust at the language, ect ect. This book was absolutely awful

    Unusual

I found it bizarre and confusing but I had to put it down at odd places because of work. It was easier to keep track when I got further into the book. In the end I liked it. Not my usual.

    Don't waste your money.

I do not care for gorilla journalism. The author likes to play with the readers mind, and show how smart he thinks he is.

    I was not impressed

This book was not my style at all. I actually didn't even finish it. It just never caught my interest. The writing style did not appeal to me at all. Sorry.

Need to pay attention to every word

All the reviews intrigued me to get this. Really a story about mental illness at the end of the day. I agree the end leaves you hanging but not really confused. I just think it was either in his mind or a product of his illness that caused another bad thing to happen. Lots of bad language and topics not suited for under age 18. Quentin Terentino would totally make a movie with this sort of story line. You have to keep track of whos who though. Only minor grammatical errors. Glsd I ignored the bsd reviews and downloadwd this book.

    The ending is total confusion.

The premise of the plot line is interesting. As the story progresses, things start getting confusing. Then the ending leaves you hanging requiring you to "solve" the plot. Since it was free it was OK but I would never buy it.

    Totally confusing!

I had a real hard time getting into this book. When it finally started to get moving on the story line, it started to twist around and I was lost. Only read this if you have nothing else to read. Otherwise, skip it!

    unusual

this was well written and despite the language and sexual interludes it held my interest to the end. The end was definitely confusing and somewhat frustrating however, it was worth waiting for because it stimulate my thought processes.
