With her trademark wit and razor-sharp sensibilities, Heron continues the story of a nurse--that intimate stranger who is sister, mother, confessor and healer--and her patients and co-workers--a convict recovering in time for his execution, a gay male nurse who is beaten and an Asian woman trying to bind herself into invisibility.

I HAVEN'T READ ANY OF HER OTHER BOOKS YET. CONDITION CRITICAL WAS A REAL EYE OPENER. IT TELLS YOU ABOUT THE LIVES OF R.N.S AND DOCTORS. THE GUTS AND GLORY OF THE HOSPITAL WHICH 'NORMAL PEOPLE' DON'T SEE. IM GOING TO BE A R.N., SO THIS BOOK HELPED ME KNOW WHAT IM UP AGAINST. THE BEST PART OF THE BOOK WAS THAT ECHO STOOD UP FOR WHAT SHE BELIEVED IN!!! ECHO IS A VERY TALENTED WRITER AND THE TRUE INSPRATION TO ME!!!!Was this review helpful?
