My daughter has been taking ice skating lessons since August, and I have been desperately searching for any books to help her. When I purchased this book, I showed it to the other parents and the coaches. Now everyone is ordering copies. This book is fantastic!! Everything that her coach and I have been trying to stress to her about off-ice conditioning, the book not only outlines, but it breaks it down into different workouts. There is so much information and so many useful tools for parents and coaches to help our future olympic hopefuls! If your child is serious about ice skating or even ice hockey, get this book. It's money well spent!!
This is a great book for figure skaters It really will help all aspects of your skating
Carl Poe is a strength and conditioning expert and has extensive experience working with figure skaters. I have attended many of his seminars and find his methods sensible and effective. While not a replacement for supervision by a strength and conditioning coach, Mr. Poe's book is a strong introduction to the types of exercises serious competitive figure skaters should be using to supplement and improve their on-ice performance.
