Overview

Sometimes the truth hurts....

Reed Brennan came to superposh Easton Academy to make a brand-new life for herself. At first it seemed as though her dream had come true-she was living in the ultraexclusive Billings Hall, hanging out with the all-powerful Billings Girls, and dating the very hot Thomas Pearson. But Thomas turned out to be different from what she thought...and then he turned up dead. And if that wasn't twisted enough, Reed's new boyfriend, Josh Hollis, was arrested for Thomas's murder.

Now everyone is back to worrying about the regular stuff, like how to sneak to the boys' dorms at night, whether two-ply cashmere is warm enough for fall, and whether to fly to London or Barcelona for Thanksgiving break.

Everyone except for Reed.

Reed is convinced that Josh is innocent, which means the killer is still out there. Now it's up to Reed to uncover the truth. But the deeper she digs, the more secrets she unearths and the closer she gets to the confession that will change everything...if she's alive to hear it.

School Library Journal

Gr 9 Up
This fourth entry in the series jumps right into action as one of the "Billings Girls" watches her current boyfriend being hauled away for the murder of her former one. Though Reed Brenner lives in the prestigious Billings Hall and is best friends with the top group, she is not like the other girls. For one thing, she's a scholarship student and for another, she believes Josh is innocent. While the rest of the school tries to figure out ways to party off campus, Reed becomes obsessed with finding the real killer. She discovers an ill-advised affair, a jealous debutante, and more secrets than money at Easton Academy. The novel is a quick read, complete with plenty of pop-culture references. The suspense grows along with Reed's paranoia. Much of the tension comes from the protagonist's relationship with the Queen Bee, Noelle. She doesn't trust her but is drawn to her nonetheless. Readers will feel the same way. Give this book to teens who want light reading and a little mystery.

The Thomas Pearce murder mystery is SOLVED! Or is it?

Reed's newest boyfriend, Josh, was turned into the police for the murder of Thomas Pearce in the last PRIVATE book, UNTOUCHABLE. But to Reed, Josh is anything but a killer.

Now in CONFESSIONS, Reed has to not only prove to the police but also the Billings Girls and everyone else at Easton Academy that Josh is not the one that murdered Thomas. But how can she if no one else really believes her? Well, Noelle's boyfriend and Josh's best friend, Dash, are certain that Josh didn't do it and will definitely help Reed prove it, if only Noelle wouldn't be so suspicious.

But while Reed is playing Nancy Drew, everyone else at Easton Academy seems to be getting back to their lives, especially the other Billings Girls, who just want to party and really want Reed to get over Josh and the murder. But, of course, things at Easton still have to be weird for everyone. Take Noelle - it seems like there is someone out there in the world who would actually step up to her and outdo her. And that person is a Billings Girl. Arianna seems to be getting a little meaner toward Reed, and Taylor is still nowhere to be found or heard from.

Can Reed clear Josh's name? And will the murder of Thomas Pearce finally be solved? There just may be plenty of confessions in this next installment of the PRIVATE series.

Kate Brian does it once again with CONFESSIONS. As always, she makes sure to add twists and turns along with plenty of secrets and drama. And, with this book, she leaves the reader with the most shocking ending to date.

If you cannot wait for INNER CIRCLE to be released, I suggest you wait to read CONFESSIONS until it's out, because you'll need that next book!

    A-M-A-Z-I-N-G

This series is hands down the best i've ever read. I read the prequel first and i was hooked after the first page. This is one of the best books in this series (not that any of the other ones are bad, because they arn't!). The story line in so intense its hard to put down. I would recomend this series to any teenage girl, expecially to fans of Gossip Girl, The A-List, or The Clique. I promise if you like teen drama books you will LOVE this one! =) p.s. I would also strongly recomend Kate Brian's Privlige series, a spinoff of the Privite series.

    Confessions

This was the best book of the series yet! I had no idea what was going to happen! It kept me guessing the entire time, who killed Thomas? and When i found out I was shocked and I couldn't stop reading. I wonder what the rest of the series is going to be like now that this mystery is solved. I can't wait to read the rest of the series and see what it's like without Noelle, Kiran, and Ariana! I definitely can't wait to read the Privileged series too!
