    This one wasn't for me.

    The book was interesting to read, just for the fact that I was curious to follow her journey. But, the character, (which was a true person & not a character at all) bothered me to the extent that I couldn't enjoy the book. Her self-centered, spoiled, selfish personality was an irritant throughout. Hope the book inspires others to lose weight, but, fear it rather provides excuses.

    Inspiring, a must read

    This may be one of the most inspiring stories I have ever read. Susan tells the true details of what it is like to be morbidly obese. If you are a woman who has ever struggled with "binge" eating, this book is a must read. I have read many novels on this topic but found this one to be the most brutally honest account of struggling with emotional eating. The most inspiring part of the book for me was how Susan would recover and rebound from her relapses or regaining of weight. It helps you stay determined and realize that everyone has setbacks when losing weight and to not give up. I didn't really agree entirely with the "rice diet," but the "diet" isn't the focus of the book--even Susan says you need to find what works for YOU and stick with it for life!!

    Fabulous woman, fabulous book!

    Susan Blech just came into my Barnes & Noble (82nd & Broadway, Manhattan) to sign the copies of her book that we had on display. I asked her to leave one of the signed copies at my desk. In a few pages, I was hooked by the ease and honesty of her writing, and the absence of self-pity and righteousness that tends to color true-life weight-loss stories. We talked for several minutes, and I can make two promises:
    1) This woman as fabulous in person as she is on paper.
    2) One of the copies she signed is coming home with me.

    A Favorable Reader

    The book was wonderful reading. It is has very, very honest details. I know that it would be effective to me and to everyone who is wanting to acheive in this catigory. I truely enjoyed the book and would recommed it to everyone, something I have never desired to do before! I laugh with the author and I cried with the author! And I even share a birthday with the author. It is a personal, honest account of everyday life and reading this book can be strenthening and helpful to everyone.

    Great book a must read !!!

    This book from cover to cover was great. I read the book in 3 days because i had to see what would happen to Susan next. This book is very inspiring. Being overweight myself i have dealt with alot of the emotional baggage that comes with weight. For example : Like I would always look for the chairs with no sides when my husband and i would go to resturants, because i knew my butt would not fit in most chairs. I've been on my on journey since December 07. It is great and i feel great. I've lost 60 pounds so far though Smart For Life. This book has inspired me to keep moving forward no matter what gets in my way.

    Can't tell a book by it's cover

    I thought to myself why did I buy this book it's probably silly but boy was I wrong! It's a fantastic, heartbreaking, inspiring account of a very brave woman's personal life altering journey.

    This book is wonderful. It's funny, sad, thoughtful, but most of all I think it's inspiring. It's written so well - I feel that she's having a conversation with me - that I'm not just reading a book. This book is for everyone, whether or not you feel you have weight concerns.
