i'm a prfessiona dog groomer with two wonderful dogs. as such, i read lot's of dog and animal books. this was quite different. it tells an odyssey from new yok city to mississippi to the caribbean to africa and finaly to china and back. a single woman with all the odds stacked against her, follows a path very few would attempt let alone succeed. i strongly and warmly recommend this book to all and (i know this is so trite) to anyone with a dream. sandy thomas is my hero
