“You know what they say…a happy vagina is a happy woman. Well, they might not say that, but they should.” –Alli

Thirty-five year-old Allison “Alli” Lancaster has it all—a fabulous job, a beautiful 15 year-old daughter, a hilarious BFF and a gorgeous house with a pool and Jacuzzi in an exclusive Las Vegas neighborhood. What she doesn’t have is a husband, because she kicked her lousy, cheating ex to the curb nine months ago. Since then, Alli has paid her dues with seemingly endless self-improvement and seemingly endless mourning. Now she’s ready to move on and try new things.

Alli’s idea of “trying new things” is nothing like that devil-of-a-best-friend of hers. Somehow, Sara, the devil of a best friend, talks Alli into trying out a sex toy, sleeping with a younger man and letting a stranger in a lab jacket put hot wax on a place that should never, ever, ever see wax. And that’s only the beginning.

Alli never saw her life going quite like this. She also never thought she’d meet someone else who had the very real potential to change her life forever.

But she did.

Enter the new guy. He’s gorgeous, refined and mature. He’s also marriage material. But that poses a problem for Alli, who renounced the institution of marriage when she renounced her ex. What’s a girl to do?

They say that what happens in Vegas, stays in Vegas. But what the heck happens when you can’t leave Vegas? Well, you spin the wheel, of course. You play the game and let the chips fall where they may.

Alli just hopes she can find them all.

Wish I didn't read this one

I don't know who wrote all of those great reviews because this book left me with a sour taste in my mouth.

Reviewers said it was very funny. It wasn't laugh out loud. If you want a funny book, check out Seduction and Snacks. That is a funny book. Laugh out loud, cause a scene giggling book.

Back to the sour taste this book left me with... Allie freaking Cat has a thing with a gigilo (and by thing I mean they have sex- often) and then... dun, dun, dun she realizes he is her daughter's swim coach. So what does she do? She takes him inside while daughter is swimming to have oral with the guy. Great choice there!!! Mother of the freaking year. Yes, its completely ok to have a male whore in the pool with my teenage daughter. (Sarcasm, for those who were wondering.)
Then she realizes she works for and has a crush on her gigilo's DAD. So whats a girl to do? Well she starts a dating dear old dad and they live happily ever after.

Really, freaking, really? In what universe is it ok to have sex with a guy (a lot of sex) and then have sex and marry the father of said guy?

That is horrible and twisted and sneaky and underhanded. The son knows, the wife knows, and the husband is in wedding bliss not aware that his son had already played in his new wife's playground.

This book had potential. It took a wrong turn with the interwoven coach aspect but could have been saved. But oh-no, it wasn't saved, it was driven off a freaking cliff and exploded in an intense fire of wrong when Allie and Shade aka Colby decided it was ok to keep their sexual past a secret from dear old dad.

This book made me feel yucky. She started a marriage with a horrible and hurtful secret. I know this is fiction and fantasy. Its a book, not real. But I could not connect with this book or "enjoy" the fanatsy. It felt wrong and dirty. And NOT the goid kind of dirty.

    Recommend!!

Loved it!! Definitely not for the timid. Bold and brazen, right from the beginning! I was laughing out loud at Alli's antics. Reading from start to finish, I couldn't put it down. I recommend this, life after divorce, comedy/romance.

    So Funny!

I loved this book! It's a quick read and I just couldn't wait to see how Ali was going to survive the next adventure she was dropped into. Great characters, although most of the men were a little unbelievably mature. ;) I was literally laughing out loud.

    Little too out there

Really wanted to like this but a little too twisted for me. No problem with the idea of hiring someone for sex. Just can't wrap my mind around allowing the hiree to also be my teenage daughter's swimcoach. Further twisted by same gigolo/swimcoach being son of new boss. New boss that she ends up dating then marrying. Really truly wanted to enjoy this.

    Funny

This book was SO unbelievable, but that is what fiction is all about, right? I was laughing out loud at the antics of Alli and Sara. Not sure I'll read this one again, but was glad that I read it once.

One of the funniest books I ever read. Caution! Only read this

One of the funniest books I ever read.

Caution! Only read this book if you want to laugh and are not offended at adult themes and language. This is not a Young Adult book.

My Thoughts: I am a big fan of Courtney Cole's and have read her YA books, and recently her adult book, Of Blood and Bone, which I loved. When I learned she had written another adult book, Confessions of an Alli Cat, of course I couldn't wait to check it out. I have to say, this is one of the most hilarious books I have ever read. My jaws literally hurt from laughing and grinning for the biggest part of the time I was reading it. The other part of the time I was fanning my face.

Allison Lancaster is 35 years old, and recently divorced from her husband of 15 years, who she found out was cheating on her. Her best friend Sara, who is an absolute hoot, decides she needs to spice up her life. She first takes her to the "naughty store," where they purchase Geronimo. She then talks her into going to an exclusive club called Utopia where they hook-up with sexy young high-end escorts, which they have chosen on-line prior to arrival. Alli has chosen "Shade," who is young, hot, and looks like a Greek Sex God. He opens Alli's eyes to a world of fun she never dreamed of filled with all kinds of surprises. When Alli begins to fall for her new boss Alex, a whole new can of worms is opened up, especially when she begins to find out more about him.

The book is told from mainly Alli's point of view, put there are parts when we get to hear from Shade and even Alex. I absolutely loved Alli. She is hilarious and one of the most fun characters I have come across in a novel. The situations she gets herself into and the things she thinks and says will leave you holding your side in laughter. From Brazilian waxes to Botox, the fun never ends. OMG, Shade, well let's just say he is every woman's secret fantasy, and when you read the book and find out more about him and who he is, you will find that the apple doesn't fall far from the tree in that department. I have to say that this is one of the most entertaining and fun books I have ever read. If you are offended by adult themes, humor, and language, then this book probably isn't for you. If not, and you want to experience one outrageously funny, hot, romantic, and super sexy book, you should definitely pick up Confessions of an Alli Cat. I can guarantee that you won't be disappointed.

I'm pretty sure I cracked a rib from laughing so hard. You know.

I'm pretty sure I cracked a rib from laughing so hard. You know...it only hurts when I laugh, business. Well, I hurt from laughing all the way through this book. And the steamy...WOWZA! I thought my iPad was going to burn, there was so much smoke coming from it.

This book isn't just a steamy read, though. There are some really important lessons to be learned:
Aloe and Tea bags placed in just the right spot can heal a BB.
Never wave your Geronimo in front of mirror.
Botox should really be included in the standard allergen test.
Never wear shapewear when going out for a night of pleasure.
How to bring a man to his knees in 5 minutes flat.
    Body shots .....enough said.

There are so many connections in this book that I kind of saw coming, but also some I didn't see, and those connections made it that much more enjoyable. This book is fifty 'Shades' of steamy! I'm pretty sure I saw a flame or two in some of the scenes with Alli and Shade...and Tyler. I'll just say that Courtney Cole has definitely hit it out of the ball park with this one. You will pee your pants from the laughter, and wet yourself from the heat. I really look forward to the next installment of The Cougar Chronicles and hope to see some of the other characters (cough - Chaz - cough - Tyler - cough) steam up the pages. When I first finished the book last night, I was thinking 4.5 stars, but since I've had Shade and Alex in my head ever since, it is definitely a 5 star read for me.
