With his first album since 2001's Grammy-winning 8701, contemporary R&B star Usher has his work cut out for him. The heartthrob proves he's up to the challenge by kicking off his fourth disc with the crunked-up single "Yeah!," propelled by cameos from Dirty South hip-hop brethren Lil Jon and Ludacris. And while there are plenty more upbeat club tracks, including the Michael Jacksonreminiscent "Take Your Hand," Confessions isn't all about the good times. As the title suggests, on several songs Usher comes clean about many facets of his personal life, including past indiscretions ("Confessions Part II"), his painful breakup with longtime girlfriend Chilli of TLC ("Burn"), and having the karmic tables turned by a female player ("Caught Up"). Elsewhere, it's clear that the smooth, falsetto-prone crooner's primary goal is merely to seduce his already enraptured female fans with sexy mid-tempo tracks like the quiet-storm jam "Can You Handle It?," the funky, guitar-led "Bad Girl," and the X-rated "That's What It's Made For." By tackling more adult subject matter with each of his albums, Usher has successfully transitioned from cute teenybopper to bona fide adult hottie -- a feat his idol Jacko never quite accomplished. And although airing his dirty laundry and then putting out an APB for all bad girls to come out and play sounds a bit contradictory, that's exactly the kind of trifling behavior that makes this abs-a-licious bad boy all the more irresistible.

Yeah! is the BEST song i have ever heard!
For a minute I thought that Usher had left the music sceen but now I know HE'S BACK!!! His first two singles "Burn" and "Yeah" are definately helping him reach the top of the charts with his long awaited album "Confessions." If you ever slept on Usher before, now's the time to wake up because ya boy is back!!!!!
This is one of the best cds in my collection oh my god you have to pick it up now!! HE IS AWESOME!!!
I love Ushers new song Yeah it makes me want to just get up and dance oh yeah I love Usher to
Usher is the greatest!!! I'm sure that his new ablum is going to be awesome!!!! I love his new song Yeah.
Usher's new cd is the tightest cd out right now. Oh my gosh, did yall hear the song confession that is too good for me. Go cop that cd when it comes out yall. Get the real one, not the boot-leg, its worth it.
Usher's Confessions is his best album yet. It has the right mixture of ballads, uptempo songs and midtempo songs. It has great midtempo songs in ConfessionPt.2, Simple Things, Throwback and Follow Me. Most of the album is midtempo songs. You have the hot dance tracks in Yeah, Caught Up and Take Your Hand. Usher also dip into rock wit the mitempo dance song Bad Girl. It has hot sexy ballads in Burn and Can U Handle It?. The singles off this album is going to be Yeah, Burn, Confessions Pt.2, Throwback and Caught Up.
He has done it again! I truly love this man! I have been a fan since the poetic justice soundtrack. The man is creative, talented, and sexy. I have always and will always be a fan. I have every CD this godsend has created, since he first stepped on the scene. I have matured right along with Usher, and saw him go from a cute little boy to a sexy young man. I give this album two thumbs up, as a fan and as a true music lover!
Usher's new song "Yeah" is the best song he's ever made!
If you're looking for a chill, romantic evening, this cd is IT. Seriously, the music FLOWS... his vocals are simply amazing. This is definitely one of the hottest cd's out right now. I'm so glad I bought it.
USHER IS GAERT HE'S SIMPLY THE BEST AND THISALBUM JUST'S PROVE IT...AND USHER IF YOU READ THIS HOLLA AT ME @ JEANNEG14@AOL.COM
Each time Usher drops an album I always expect something extraordinary, but this album had me speechless (literally). I think it took me at least a half an hour to pick my jaw up from the ground. I never expected an album to tap into all of my emotions. Usher also has this way of incorporating familiar sounds and flavor to water down the severity of his Confessions. I enjoy being being his #1 fan in "Superstar," the most. If this CD was a book I don't believe I could put it down... that's how good it is, don't deny yourself the pleasure of this jagged thriller.
I know i'm the only one giving this review any negativity, but compared to his other cd's, this one just isn't as good. The first 6 or 7 songs are tight, but the remainder of them sound the same.
Yeah! Usher's new CD rocks! It's got burn AND Yeah!
Usher is so amazing, he is one of the best vocalists on the rnb hiphop market today Big ups to usher, although it has been a long time since we heard new stuff fromhim it was worth the wait , burn truth hurts simple things, r good numbers theres others too tho usher is crazy
i think that this is one of his best cds ever especially the songs burn and yeah are my most favorites and cant wait until his next cd comes out because he is maturing into a male hiphop/r n b artist.....................
Usher's cds are usually the bomb.I don't know what happened with this one. There are about 4 good songs on here.
I love his album... he did a great job! Keep it coming Usher!
On the last few Usher cd's I only liked a few tracks. But after listening to Confessions, I must say every track is hot. He takes you from the club straight to the bedroom. The one song that I must play over and over is Can you handle it? Usher, I danced, I cried, and I fell in love all to your cd. Thanks
R. Kelly may have the "R" in R&B but Usher is NOT short-stopping with the "u" in Blues. This whole cd is raw. He put his business on the street which in some aspects I'm thinking "What'd he go and do that for?" but in others, I understand why he told the story before the media could get ahold of it and mess it ALL up. His voice is SICK!!!!!!!!! I have all of his cds but this one is the best of them all. He was hitting some high notes that i didn't even know were in his system. I was just excited to hear him sing. I could feel his voice in my heart...remember when Beyonce said "yes" real loud on one of her new songs? His whole album is like that! Superb. I never knew he was so funny until 106 & Park. The man can dance, he's funny, he's adorable, he's sexy, and he can SANG!
The hooks are too repetitive, even for hip-hop, and the lyrics are incredibly immature. Even in the liner notes it's obvious that Usher is way too impressed with himself...there's no humilty in his lyrics thus it's hard to enjoy some of the catchiness of (just) some of the songs. His voice is still as beautiful as ever though.
The tracks on this cd, take you all over the place...a full spectrum of emotions. It's not too often when you can pop a cd in, and listen to it from beginning to end. AND, enjoy every minute of it. 3 single-worthy tracks: obviously YEAH, BURN and BAD GIRL, and the "fillers" send you off in melodic bliss too!
