Meet the Author

Selena Kitt is a bestselling and award-winning author of erotic fiction. She is one of the highest selling erotic writers in the business. With half a million ebooks sold in 2011 alone, she is the cream-at-the-top of erotica!

Her writing embodies everything from the spicy to the scandalous, but watch out-this kitty also has sharp claws and her stories often include intriguing edges and twists that take readers to new, thought-provoking depths.

When she’s not pawing away at her keyboard, Selena runs an innovative publishing company (excessica.com) and in her spare time, she devotes herself to her family—a husband and four children—and her growing organic garden. She also loves bellydancing and photography.

Her books EcoErotica (2009), The Real Mother Goose (2010) and Heidi and the Kaiser (2011) were all Epic Award Finalists. Her only gay male romance, Second Chance, won the Epic Award in Erotica in 2011. Her story, Connections, was one of the runners-up for the 2006 Rauxa Prize, given annually to an erotic short story of “exceptional literary quality,” out of over 1,000 nominees, where awards are judged by a select jury and all entries are read “blind” (without author’s name available.)

Can be a little depressing, but a well-writen short

Selena Kitt has a talent for creating well-developed characters--even in short stories. Because the main character is so believably-tragic, it was hard to think of the story in terms of hot erotica. Still a good read, but make sure that you can handle a little sadness before you do read this.

    I Also Recommend:

Short and sweet; more emotion than sex, but a nice dollop of both

This is another good example of Selena Kitt's writing style. It's the story of Cathy, a college dropout who lacks any real connection in the world. It's a lonely story at first, wholly believable, of a woman who is floating instead of swimming. She has a desperate way of 'connecting' in a very tentative way, a variation on prank dialing that provides a little bit of human contact that she doesn't otherwise have. Through this, though, she meets someone and the one-directional, feather-light touch with humanity becomes a strong bond with another human being. I know that I make this sound much heavier than you'd probably want to read, but it's a love story, the story of recovery, and there is some very tender sex. As I said, a good example of Ms. Kitt's style, the emotional depths that she can generate in 22 pages (with an additional 24 pages of advertising...but I can't complain too bitterly, with this being a free book), while still keeping the sex hot. Good characters, a slow but important plot, and hot sex. I enjoyed it.

    Good short story

In general I like Selena Kitt as a writer. This is, I think, the third story by her that I have read and I liked it, though I will say I enjoyed the other books I've read by her more.

Anyone picking up this book should know it is a short story, told in the first person. Although it is short Ms. Kitt does a good job of showing the connection between the Caty and Seth. The ending is not necessarily an HEA but it is an appropriate ending for this story. Ms. Kitt seems to enjoy ending her stories on a bit of an unusual note and I appreciate that. In the books I've read Ms. Kitt seems to like to leave things a little open ended for your imagination to fill in. It's a good technique that leave me thinking about the book long after I put the book down.

So if your looking for a good short story to cozy up with on a rainy afternoon to pass an hour with, this would be a good choice.

    Connections

Nice story, fascinating plot, hot, satisfying sex! A story anyone who's ever felt a little down and seperated from the rest of the world can really relate to on a personal level, with a happy ending.

Exactly what I was looking for!

I absolutely love Selena Kitt. She gives you far more than just great sex, but also develops her characters, and gives you a real story with real emotions that nearly anyone can relate to. This story is definitely one of my favorites by her, with such complex and deep characters. I couldn't put it down! Just had to read it all in one sitting.

    Good quickie

Fun short hetro fling. This book would be better without the ads. This and other shorts by the author should be combined.
