Overview

Consent for Conception is a suspense thriller that involves the impeccable medical practice of a gynecologist, Dr. Rick Parks, who suddenly has two patients die within a short period. Ultimately, the fate of his two patients is revealed with the help of a black, Vietnam veteran and a serendipitous adventure through a hospital in the middle of the night.
At a different level the book is a story of an unrequited love relationship from the past that explodes into the present with guilt, shame, and truth. Like a leaf that falls from a tree in the swamps of Australia can ultimately affect the tides in Italy; so too, a missed phone call can send the lives of three individuals in different directions that ultimately collide to manifest the paradox that contempt and hostility are a heartbeat away from respect and love of uncommon proportions.
Finally, on a more profound level the book examines, from an uncanny perspective, one of the most controversial issues dividing our country today. Ultimately, the reader comes away with a new insight into a moral imbroglio that will lead each individual to a reexamination of his or her own philosophy of the consent for conception.
