Editorial Reviews

Children's Literature - Justina Engebretson
All fifteen-year-old Callum Ormond must do is stay alive for the next 365 days, which would be a lot easier if he did not have a growing number of people wanting him dead. All this trouble Cal finds himself in has to do with the Ormond Singularity, an inheritance he is still trying to understand. It is October now and Cal is down to ninety-two days left to survive. He has just cheated death once again and is heading home to his friends and sidekicks, Winter and Boges. Their current mission is to break into Oriana's safe to retrieve the Ormond Jewel and Riddle. To achieve this, the trio needs to get Oriana's pin, her fingerprint, and concoct a disguise good enough to get past the bank's security guards. Easy, right? Will the team succeed or will Cal find himself running for his life once again? This middle reader, book ten of the "Conspiracy 365" series, dives into action with Cal on the run, barely escaping with his life. Unlike most plots that reach a climax and descend for a conclusion, the action and suspense in this book steadily continues to the final page. Adopting a style similar to the once hit Fox network series 24, each book in this series consists of one month. The book's pages are numbered in reverse order, echoing the ticking of time that is running down for Cal, which is also recorded under the chapter headings. Fans of this series will enjoy Cal's continuing adventure, while it is recommend that new readers of this series begin at the start as they will be two-thirds through this book before getting a clearer understanding of who is who and what is happening. Overall, this is an excellent action-packed read for middle school students. Book ten in the "Conspiracy 365" series. Reviewer: Justina Engebretson

    Highly Recommended

One of the best series my kids have ever read. My 13 year old son and 10 year old daughter both enjoyed the series. They would finish one book and immediately pick up the next month. Make sure you have the entire series on hand when they start reading Conspiracy 365. When you are finished with this series, check out the Seven Sleepers books.
