When Margaret Cavendish, one of Elizabeth I’s Gentlewomen of the Bedchamber, lost her life in a bungled attempt to kill the Queen, her daughter, Lady Grace, became a protégée to the monarch, who takes her under her wing. Now Grace, a spunky girl who romps through the gardens with the laundry maids and court tumblers and rolls her eyes at her fellow ladies, chronicles the court intrigues that swirl around her. . . .
The Royal Court is on its summer travels and Lady Grace is sure something strange is going on. As Queen Elizabeth narrowly escapes a series of mysterious accidents, Grace must investigate just who might be behind the conspiracy. This book is set in the Elizebethan era but has a modern touch. The excitement is nonstop and the plot riveting. It uses history from the era correctly and without complexity. A great book for anyone interested in Elizabethan history as well as anyone who loves an exciting book.

This is not a book simply for children. I study the Tudor/Elizabethan period, and was enchanted by this book, and I'm 25. My grandmother, who is 81 loves this series as well. It is enthralling and filled with the minute details of 16th century life at the English Court! Not to be missed.
