The title says it all. I can't help but throw out some spoilers, so let me just say: if your child loves construction equipment, he'll love this book. Now there are spoilers coming up so stop reading if you don't want to know more. The book is divided up into 3 basic sections. House building, road building and urban renewal. It shows many of the different pieces of large equipment that are used to accomplish each task. I have a 27 month old son and he loves this book. He says the name of the equipment along with me. The plot isn't particularly exciting, but it doesn't have to be, the equipment itself is enough to carry the book. The book features: excavators, front end loaders, backhoes, dump trucks, tree spades, graders, bulldozers, wrecking balls, cement mixers, cement pumpers, and mobile cranes. Yes I've read the book enough times that I can name every piece of equipment in it from memory if that's any indication of how much my little guy loves this book. Another indication of his fondness for this book: he tried to eat it he was so happy when we showed it to him. This is a real book with paper pages that can be torn and dissolve in water (or spit). Our guy isn't quite ready for real paper, but we make an exception with this book he loves it so much. All his other books are board books that stand up to being kissed and hugged.
