    Okay

The "Contamination: Prequel" was okay for a free read. Its 94 pages all together. A total which includes 80+ pages of the prequel story, a caption about the author, and a few preview pages from "Contamination: Book 1".

I like well written zombie books. I like well written virus/disease apocalypse books. The author tried to combine these concepts in a longer short-story. It didn't work for me. I had trouble buying in.

The story is set in small town Arizona where everyone has small fences and no guns or ammunition. Not even the cops. This is simply not based in reality. As a result, I couldn't get immersed in the plot.

Also, his description of New Mexico is lacking. In the preview pages, its described as lifeless and without color. The desert is beautiful, not dry and desolate. I will let it go since the author is from Connecticut.

Back to the plot. It goes nowhere. Lots of running, chasing, etc. No resolution or twist ending. The story just stopped after so many pages. It was disappointing. "To Be Continued..." is not a good ending. It makes me not want to read the next book for fear that "TBC... " may be contagious.

All the time spent hinting at the "Agents" was a waste of time in this story. It had no real purpose, except to place them in the story as the "omniscient bad guy/evil organization" stereotypical characters.

I liked the characters of the girl and her police officer father. I would consider reading more about them, specifically. It made me feel better the the "last survivor" as he called himself didnt make it. Predictable, but satisfying.

Considering the trouble I had buying into the story line. And, that the preview didn't appear promising. I will not be reading the rest of this series. However, since this is the author's first published work I may check back for a new story in the future.

EXCELLENT READ-----TRY IT YOU'RE LIKE IT!!!!!!!!!

IF YOU ARE LOOKING FOR A WELL WRITTEN, PROVOCATIVE STORY THAT CONCEPTION WAS WELL THOUGHT OUT BY THE AUTHOR I URGE YOU TO TAKE THE TIME TO READ THIS BOOK. THE BOOK IS FAST MOVING (NEVER DRAGS TO THE POINT OF BORING YOU).
THE CHARACTERS ARE ONES TO BE FOUND IN MOST BOOKS DEALING WITH THE SUBJECT MATTER OF THE COMING DESTRUCTION OF HUMANITY. THE MEANS OF MANKINDS DESTRUCTION REALLY DOESN'T MATTER. ALL THAT MATTERS IS THE COURSE OF THE EPIDEMIC AND IT'S EVENTUAL OUTCOME. REGARDLESS IF IT'S CAUSED BY SOME FREAKISH- UNEXPLAINED CATASTROPHE OR EVENT WHICH EITHER FALLS FROM THE SKY ON A DARK-BLEAK NIGHT OR ON A BRIGHT, SUNNY DAY, OR IS MAN MADE IN SOME LAB BY A MANIAC FOAMING AT THE MOUTH WITH AN AGENDA WHICH WOULD MAKE LITTLE SENSE TO THE REST OF THE WORLD THAT IS IF THE HUMAN RACE IS FORTUNATE TO SURVIE.
ANYWAY, READ FOR YOUR SELF. IT'S A SHORT READ. HOWEVER, I BELIEVE SOMETIMES A WELL WRITTEN SHORT READ IS BETTER THEN A LONG DRAGGED OUT BOOK WITH LITTLE TO SAY. IF I COULD HAVE I WOULD HAVE GIVEN THIS BOOK MORE THEN FIVE STARS.

    Great new read!!!

I really enjoyed this prequel. I read The Onset first and couldn't wait to pick up the rest! Page turning from beginning from beginning to end. Well-written and exciting l. I look forward to the rest. If you love the conspiracy theory intrigue and zombie-filled excitement, give these a try. Great job!

    Excellent series!

When I started reading I had no idea this was a zombie story. I don't do zombies. Well, I do now! The story grabbed me from the beginning and I couldn't wait to get the rest. If this series doesn't make it onto the screen I'll be sadly disappointed. Somebody find this author and offer a contract!
