Contexts of Nursing introduces students to the theory, language and scholarship of nursing. This new edition debates the key ideas underpinning the practice of contemporary nursing through the dynamic voices of a range of educators and experts from Australia and New Zealand.

As with previous editions, an evidence-based learning approach has been integrated throughout the text to assist the student's understanding of the concepts central to nursing practice. Each chapter focuses on an area of study within the undergraduate nursing program, for example, history, culture, ethics, law, technology and professional issues.

In response to recent developments in nursing practice, Contexts of Nursing 3e includes a new chapter on leadership and another on cultural awareness, safety and competence. The text also includes significant revisions based on core changes in nursing practice over recent years such as technological advances and informatics.
