Editorial Reviews

Amazon.com - AY TEE
Contract of Defiance is a top-notch addition to the Sci-Fi action / thriller genre. It contains the kind of action that makes it hard to turn off the light and go to sleep. But there is also great characterization that suggests very interesting back-stories to characters that will leave you asking questions and wanting to hear more about those characters, not just the protagonist.
Amazon.com - AK Smith
Finally! A military sci-fi heroine that isn't a cartoon caricature! A few high points:
1) I had a strong feel for how the book's region of space works, without ever being stuck reading a boring page of explanation, or worse - scientific jargon.
3) Right up to the end I wasn't sure how Aly and the crew would pull off their mission - great suspense and everything made sense.
4) The characters were all very real and multi-dimensional... none of them are perfect.

Meet the toughest gal in the galaxy. Salyer gives us an action-packed page-turner and Contract of Defiance where you feel the protagonist's internal struggles as if you were a member of her new crew trying to break down those emotional walls. You can't help but root for this heroin and the concise writing guides you and Aly through a quest that very well could be her last.

Meet the Author

Tammy is an inveterate verbarian who spends her day surrounded by the written word, both hers and others’. As an ex-paratrooper with the 82nd Airborne Division, her stories are often as gritty as a grunt’s pile of three-week-old field gear. Her military science fiction novel Contract of Defiance is the first book in the Spectras Arise Trilogy and debuted to acclaim in Spring 2012. Contract of Betrayal is the second in the trilogy, and the final book, Contract of War, completes it. When not hunched like a Morlock over her writing desk, Tammy runs and bikes silly miles in the playground of Southern California and spends an inappropriate amount of time watching Henry Rollins videos on YouTube.
