Overview

Conversations With a Pedophile is a landmark book: it is the first time the uncensored voice of a pedophile can be heard. Presented are a series of letters spanning a decade written by sex offender “Alan” to author Dr. Amy Hammel-Zabin, a therapist in the prison where he was incarcerated. Confessing that he had sexually abused more than one thousand boys, his first-hand stories are a compelling argument that the danger of the pedophile does not lurk mysteriously in the dark; rather, it is a very real threat in your neighborhood. Throughout the book, Dr. Hammel-Zabin offers her own expert analysis of Alan’s letters. As both a trained therapist and a victim of childhood sexual abuse herself, she is uniquely qualified to articulate the development, maintenance and sorrowful impacts of pedophilia. It is in the interest of our children that we listen so that we can better understand and prevent this horrendous crime.

No child should live a nightmare as this. No child should lose a part of them because someone is perverted and sexually sick.

This is a great book. i recommend all Parent to get it. No parent should ever feel as if their child is so safe this would never happen. That's how i became a victim of sexual abuse...through trust of those who are their to protect you and lead you. It is like a part of you have died. <BR/>it is like you are just existing and until it is all finally over. It is keeping a secret that should be shared for the protection of others. You hurt...You can't enjoy a healthy sex life with the one you love. Parents, wake up. your child is screaming for help. You are their to protect them. Nothing is more important than paying attention and listening even when it hurts more than anything...imagine how the victim feels.

something all parents should read before its to late

i would recommend this book to all expecting parents and individuals who are parents already. this book is a true insight on how the pedophile will use your childs weakest link to get ahold of them. thru alans story you will learn what most pedophiles look for in their prospective victims and then you will learn how they are able to teach your child to keep it secret. a must read. thru the arthur who was herself a victim you will learn how to open up the communication lines with your child so that hopefully you will never have to live thru the nightmare of having one of our own children victimized. i learned alot reading this book. i wished i would have read it before my child had been victimized, i may have been able to read into some of the signs and little earlier.
