This helpful book, based on true experience, shows how signing can be a communications solution for Down Syndrome children with verbal expression challenges. Written for readers of all ages, it is particularly appropriate for youngsters to gain understanding of and tolerance for those with Down Syndrome. Two signing 'words' are introduced mid-book,with enlarged illustrations for 'cookie' and 'juice' rounding out the book. It lends itself nicely to discussion among children as well as offering a communications option for children like Molly who find it difficult to communicate verbally. It is well-bound and is approved by The American Academy of Pediatrics.
